Hi guys,
I had my op today and thought I’d just give you all a run down of how it went.
My admission time was 7am, got shown to my room and given my gown to change into, also the pregnancy test.
Advice to anyone on their period, take a pad. They wont let you have a tampon in for the surgery and the pad they give you is absolutely horrid.
Signed all the consent forms by the nurses and the anaesthetist.
At around 9:30 Dr Frati came in with another consent form and drew on me. Went upstairs to theatre at approx 10:45
All the staff are really nice and friendly, they will make you feel comfortable.
I woke up in recovery just after 12pm and got taken back down to my room 20/25 minutes later.
They will keep checking your blood pressure every 15/20 minutes, make sure you drink as much water as you can when you come down, it will help.
I got my tea and toast around 40 minutes after coming back to my room. IT WAS THE BEST THING EVER, honestly bread has NEVER tasted so good lol.
My blood pressure was a bit low so I had to drink tons of water. Ladies you will be tired but feel free to nap, its completely normal.
Frati uses drains so going to the toilet was hassle, having to carry them around, but there were no issues there
Fast forward 3 hours or so, I got given my medication and had my drains removed.
I don’t want to freak anybody out but the drain removal is as bad as everybody says. The left came out with ease, but the right? JESUS CHRIST, I wanted to bite my own arm off. It literally felt like my soul was being dragged out of my body.
Over than that the whole experience wasn’t too bad, I’m more sore than in pain. I feel quite normal atm my chest just feels tight but its bearable. Was allowed to go home at 5pm
I will keep you all updated and upload pictures when I can, my strapping doesn’t come off until next tuesday xx
Omg the drains ???? I fainted it was awful!! Have you been sick at all?
I just want to look at my new boobs ha xxx
Glad it all went well for you Hun! How unreal is the toast they give you omg it was the best thing I had ever tasted haha x
@millyxxx was it your first time under anaesthetic? I was surprised tbh, I wasn’t in as much pain as I thought I would be
Today is a lot worse, feeling a lot of pain where the drains were and they feel really stiff and heavy
How are you?
@caseymurrell the toast was so good lol, it made me so happy
It was babe.. i feel the same ???? What pain relief have you been sent home with? My mum is a nurse and thinks i should have something stronger xx
@jessicaloakes hey Jessica, happy healing to you too, how did it go?
Ugh I’m not enjoying it, I’m usually on the pill but obviously had to come off for the surgery, so it’s my first natural period. I’m hating it, it’s deffo contributing to the bloat. Using tampons, I usually do anyway, but I think they’re a lot better for comfort atm too
Worried every time I go to pee I’m going to topple over lol
They’re a bit heavy at the moment, and the tightness isn’t helping, they feel like a weight tied to my chest lol
You’re so lucky you didn’t feel it!!
All went well honey! Starting to feel a little pain in my incisions now but I don’t know if that’s due to having an uplift also sensitivity around my nipples. The tightness has also gone from the top of my chest and now it just feels like I’ve got lead weights in the bottom of my boobs. Soooooo bloody heavy. I know what you mean about thinking you’re going to topple over ha ha. I’ve got some peppermint tea, I haven’t started drinking it yet but I will from
Tomorrow morning twice a day, another girl on this forum recommended it to me to help with the bloating. I might have to google other tips!! I am so bloody lucky that I didn’t feel the drains by the sounds of it from you and milly. Bless you ladies! Hope you both have a good night tonight, I’m praying mine is better than last nightxx
