Hi Amy,
I over prepared if im honest haha I meal prepped healthy meals for 2 weeks as I knew i wouldnt really feel up for cooking, as well as making sure everything was cleaned beforehand so I when i got bored i didnt try to clean. I would honestly recommend buying a back rest,(which i set up for when i came back from hospital the morning of haha) for the first few days i had it on the highest it would go, so i could get out of bed by myself unaided as my mum works shifts so couldnt be there all the time. I think its helped me so much as now day 5 po ive been getting myself up and walking around for the past 4 days as and when i like. I also put all of my easy to put on clothes in a drawer i left open, because i knew I couldnt open a drawer for myself PO either. It may also be worth keeping some cups/plates/kitchen stuff on your worktop so you dont have to reach up to get anything.
My dog has been the lovliest companion hes been sat by me constantly, I think hes realised he cant jump up at me at the moment.
Hope this helps slightly, Everyone is different with the healing process though hun best of luck with your surgery 🙂 xx
