Your given a large dose of antibiotic via iv during surgery so you have been covered but if you feel that you realy would have liked at least a 5 day course afterwards and you allergic to penicillin then it’s unfortunate Keflex doesn’t suit you, eurythromycin could be taken in a lower dose (per mg) but more frequently to keep side effects at mimimum or possibly clindamycin or doxycycline (preferably doxy it’s more specific to bacteria in tissue) but you should do ok without it, some countries don’t follow up with antibiotic post surgery it’s deemed unneccasary, some (mainly USA) prefer single dose 2 hours pre-op so don’t panic about it xxx
