    Hi Girls,

I found it very useful reading other people’s stories on here before my op and noticed there wasn’t much info on Dr Netri on here as he is new to mya and notice a lot of people are worried about this. Don’t be!! There is absolutely nothing to worry about he is an amazing surgeon and gives you exactly what you want.

I had 350cc hp under the muscle which I was originally scared about due to only being very small to start with so he ordered 325 and 300 just in case they were too tight with 350.. once out of surgery he came to see me to tell me he had used 350 and they were no problem at all. He also uses drains which is nothing to worry about you are so worn out and numb from the anaesthetic you can barely feel them being taken out.

Time for recovery now I am currently in no pain just feel achey, I don’t have strapping on just my mya post op bra and a breast band which has to stay on for 2 weeks.

If anyone has any questions or would like to see a photo straight from surgery feel free to message good luck with your op girls xx

Does he not use strapping then? Had my pre op today and they booked me in for my post op to have strapping off? Did you have to buy the breast band? X

Hi Hannah, he hasn’t used any strapping on me I’m not sure if it’s different depending on what size or position you have etc but I didn’t have to pay for the band I came out of surgery and they had already put it on me x

I had my pre op today. I’m scared incase my swabs come back with MRSA!

Breast band for 2 weeks 🙁

I’m having similar to you but 400CC under the muscle so i think Netri will put one on me too.

    How you feeling today Sophie?

The breast band is probably the worst part as it is so tight but I’d rather this than full strapping all the way around especially in this weather! I’ve still had no pain at all just tightness and aching but apart from that I’m feeling okay.

Good Luck with your op Mr Netri is amazing x

Oh that’s okay then, I’m having 350cc under the muscle, so we shall see what I come out with aha.. do we still have to go to the pre op appointment if there’s no strapping on? Yeah that’s so true plus if it is too tight at least you have the option to slacken it slightly. That’s so good no pain! How long did you have to stay for after you came round?

Omg I’m thinking the exact same about the swabs hannah aha I’m an A&E nurse so we have no idea if people have it ha. My friend I work with had hers done in December and that’s all she thought about too but she came back with it negative so fingers crossed! X

You still get your one week post op appointment with the nurse so she can check how your incisions are healing and check your stcitches also.
I keep undoing the band for a few minutes for a breather then putting it back it really helps for just them few minutes. I came out back to my room at 4.20pm and was discharged around 8ish they have to keep you in for at least 3 hours they will check you have had a wee and as long as you are up walking and feel fine within yourself they will let you go home.. good luck girl it’s definitely worth it xx

Hi Jane, Im now 2 days post op and although I haven’t been in any pain I am still struggling to dress myself etc any movement of the arms strains the muscles just make sure everything is at elbow height for you and you should be fine x

I have my surgery with Mr Netri on the 28th July. I’m really nervous as I get married in 7 weeks and I am worried about bruising. I have always hated my breasts and have constantly wore heavily padded bras so I am so excited with the thought of not having to wear these anymore but feel like I should have done it earlier. I’m really worried about the pain I have booked 1 week off work and need to get back after this week due to other staff holidays I so hope I can keep on top of the pain as I am not good with pain. I am not sure about how long bruising may last has anyone been told? Thanks

Hi Steph, are you having overs or under? They say unders take a bit longer to heal but everyone is different if you don’t have a physical job I’m sure you will be fine to go back to work after a week.. at the minute I haven’t had any pain or got any bruising at all so hopefully it doesn’t begin to bruise but that’s something that will also be different for everyone. I started taking arnica tablets a week before my op which are supposed to reduce swelling and bruising maybe this has helped me, have a look into them you can get them from any holland and Barrett store x

Hi Sophie, I’m having unders. I work as a medical secretary typing up referrals and reports etc. What pain killers did they discharge you with? Have you been taking pain killers? How are you feeling in yourself? X

They discharged me with the anti biotics then co codamol and ibruprofen.. the morning after surgery I started my anti biotics and co codamol and have been taking them both together 3 times a day 6 hours apart even though I have had no pain I am taking the cocodamol to prevent it and then 1 ibuprofen each day for swelling it seems to be working well for me this way. Apart from limited use of my arms I am feeling back to normal in myself x

    Hi Sophie

Sounds like you are doing really well. Hope you are feeling ok.
Which post op bras did you purchase?
How are you managing with sleeping? I have been reading about using a V shaped pillow have you tried one?
Is there anything you would suggest getting in advance to the procedure? X

Hi Steph, I bought the mya post op bras theyre super comfy, sleeping is pretty hard to get used and quite a big strain on your back with having to sleep partially sitting up I have now found it easier to sleep pretty much sat fully up as getting up out of bed was a big strain on the muscles plus I was slipping down through the night to nearly on my back.. I have a v shaped pillow which has really helped get me comfy. The best be thing I would suggest is plenty of big soft pillows to put behind and around yourself to support your back and head this way you should be able to find a comfortable position to sleep in x

Hi Steph, I am pretty much back to normal now I had my 1 week post op appointment with the nurse this afternoon where she took my dressings off so I now just have my bra and band on I was also given the go ahead to shower properly!! If your recovery is anything like mine has been you will be more than recovered for your wedding. Good luck with your op x

Hi ladies, don’t know if any body is still on here.

Hi Molly, I had my surgery 2 weeks ago today and had 350 unders..here’s a picture from 9dpo.

Usually they say unders are a lot more painful and have a longer recovery time but for me that hasn’t been the case I was completely back to normal after a week and still haven’t had any pain just aching like a pulled muscle would feel. Generally you just wake up with a croaky voice after the tubes which is gone the next day but apart from that you have nothing to worry about x
