Can anyone from Scotland help please. Im currently doing my research. Looking at MYA and another company. MYA would be my preference at the moment.. but I was wondering how the aftercare works? How many post op check ups do you have? And would I have to keep travelling back and forward to the hospital my op took place for these?

I’m in the same boat chick!
I contacted mya to ask about this and I know you need to have at least 3 appointments before surgery. 1st with Consultant, 2nd with surgeon and 3rd being your pre-op.
I asked if there was anyway I could compress them together so I’m hoping I can do the 1st and 2nd appointments separately and do my pre-op the day before surgery.
I’m hoping to get mine in Manchester. 🙂

Hi. I’m from Cumbria,and the nearest MYA is Newcastle which is 1 and a half hours away.been twice and going back to see another surgeon.you won’t be able to have your pre-op the day before surgery as they have to send results away.usually anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks before. I’m going to see the surgeon and have the pre-op on the same day.Then the op will be down in Preston.All follow up appointments will be back at Newcastle.1 week and 6 weeks after.Hope this helps.xx

Yeah, I’ve heard that you could group together your appointment beforehand to save travelling.
I wasn’t sure how frequently youd have appointments post op.. but 3 doesn’t sound too bad actually. Think I just need to grow a set and get a consultation booked!! ????????????
