    Hi all
I’m booked in on the 21st September at London for my BA. I’m just wondering is my chaperone aloud on the ward with me? Or do they have to wait in the main reception like ALL DAY? Do they just have to leave whilst i’m in theatre?? Also she is a female lol does this make a difference??
    Thanks x

my partner didn’t come up to the ward until after my surgery however i was a 7am admission and i was 2nd on the list,so we figured that was why he had to wait in the waiting room until after. The lady I was sharing the room with was a 2pm admission and she had someone come up to the room with her

That is strange. I wonder what the reasoning behing that is? Maybe night cases are sleeping? Seems a shame to drag them down there an they have to wait outside x

@jessica-lunnx I had my boyfriend and my parents all come with me to keep each other company haha! They were all allowed in the room with me (although you’re only meant to have one) they stayed with me before surgery and then had to leave whilst I went into theatre, then they get a call when you’re in recovery and they meet you back at your room. But I think it all depends if you have a room to yourself or if you’re sharing one with another patient x
