So girls I’ve just had a major freak out reading some feeds on here with regards to anti depressant medication. Looks like a lot of girls have had their surgery refused/cancelled if you’ve been on/off medication for less than 6 months.
Now about a month ago, I was prescribed Citalopram for stress. I really didn’t want the meds and so have never actually taken them but this will obviously show on my medical history won’t it?

I don’t want to waste time and money travelling to London only for MYA to tell me they won’t do it. I can’t wait 6 more months, I’ve already waited 6 years!! Think I might cancel my consultation and go with another company.

Just wondering if there’s anyone out there with any experience or helpful info with regards to this situation.

    Thanks gals x

I’m on anti depressants and I was asked about dose etc before my op. I can’t see how they would effect surgery. Lots of people take diff medication for various reasons. As long as they are aware I can’t see why it would be a problem. Why don’t you drop them a message to reassure you . I didn’t have survey with mya x

Mine nearly got cancelled because they thought I was on anti depressants. You have to be off them for 6 months. That’s why I’ve refused to go back on them until my surgery is done. But if it’s for stress it might be worth just ringing up saying it’s not for depression and see what they say xxx

Also because you haven’t taken them but it shows up on your report they might just do a blood test to see if it’s in your system or not xxx

I take Sertraline for anxiety, they will do the op if you are still taking them but have to be on them for 6 months. I paid Ā£18 for a doctors letter that said I’d been in them since June with no side affects and that my health is good ……. but still have to wait the 6 months šŸ™ x

yes this only applies to you if you are on or off them for 6 months. so if you have only been on them a month, there may be a problem. If you have been taking them more than 6 months then don’t stop!. And if you are due to start then wait till after.
