Hi girls,
I have my breast enlargement booked and have taken off just over two weeks from work afterwards. I’m a beauty therapist so my job includes massage, this was a big concern for me in regards to whether two weeks would be enough recovery time.
My consultant assured me it would be, but is anyone else in the same job? If so how long did you wait to go back to massaging? I understand everyone is different so it’s hard to definitely say.
Also is the pain after surgery extremely bad? I want to prepare myself for the worst and know how long the initial pain will last for-again I understand everyone is different.
Thank you xx
Hi, I don’t work in your field but I’ve just had 325cc unders 1 week ago, and although my recovery has been fantastic, my mobility is the real challenge, to be honest I couldn’t imagine being able to give someone a massage In a weeks time, back to general low strenuous work, no issue, I’m going back tomorrow! But anything physical, that might be tough, as your chest is stiff. Xx
It goes on each person and how you are with things I was ok to go back to work and as a beauty therapist myself I know how hard the job is but it definitely depends on the person
Thanks for your help girls, I’m a bit worried as I don’t want to over do it. My surgery is booked for the 11th jan and my first day back will be the 30th so I’m hoping this will be okay. How long did you wait to go back to work as a beauty therapist Emma?
Im also still debating what size, I’m currently a 32b and debating 300cc or 325cc unders. Xxx
Hi girls I’m booked in 16th November I’m a hairdresser and I’ve got 2&1/2 weeks off and hoping it’s going to be enough time as I have a full diary in December for the Xmas rush???? Xxx
I’m a totally different job aspect as I work for the nhs but at 14 days post op I felt back to normal. I still felt like I tired easy though and a lot of moving did cause me to be slightly achy.
The pain after wasn’t bad at all. I’ve only ever been sore when my strapping was removed and my implant pressed on the bruising. I’ve never been in “pain” as such xxx
Havent had mine done yet but ms lutz told me 4 weeks as i do hair dressing so think you would be the same as ur always on your feet and lifting ir arms xx if i was u id book 3 weeks off to be safe then if u feel no better then just call in sick at work x
Thanks for all the advice, @liv-young91 did your consultant advise 4 weeks off? Maybe I’ll try and get 3 just to be on the safe side xx
Im a nurse, i went back on lighter duties after 16 days. I was still sore and i found tge 14 hour shifts tough. I had unders. I think overs arent as painful, but to me it seems unders take alot longer to recover from x
@liv-young91 I can understand you’re annoyed about that but I guess the positive is you’ll have a full recovery before you go back! This is the hardest part for me because I just don’t know how I’ll be feeling afterwards x
I had unders and I’m 17dpo. I still can’t put my full strength in to doing things, arms aren’t as strong should I say haha! X
@sianlewxo i noticed you had 475cc, as I’m considering 300/325cc do you think there’d be much difference in the recovery time? x
It’s not really about the implant size, it will definitely depend on you as a individual, and if you have overs, unders etc. I had unders and I hear that’s a bit more painful. 2dpo I was walking around in town doing some shopping just to get fresh air for a few hours. I was fine, took full meds for 7days even when didn’t think I needed them. X
Thank you it’s really helpful hearing about other people’s journeys! I just want it to be over and done with! X
Heya, I am a bus driver so was really worried as i only managed to get 7 days off after my op.
I only had bad pain the first 3 days then it eased. I drove my car after 6 days to see how i would cope and was fine. I was then back in work 7 days after my op, driving the bus as normal. Had some discomfort the first 2 days but was fine after.
I was told if you lie around and stay inactive after your op your recovery takes longer. So i made sure the next day after my op i was up and about doing small things like making a cuppa or just having a walk around.
Everyone recovers different but mine was incredibly smooth thank god. X x
