@skimber93 Hi Sophie! Don’t panic! Have you had unders? I went into my op feeling totally prepared following months and months of research and endless reading, but nothing prepared me for the ‘pain’ afterwards. I say ‘pain’ because when I wasn’t trying to move I was in no pain whatsoever, just a tight pressure around my chest, but when you try to engage the chest muscle which is anything from trying to sit up, to lifting your arms to try and scratch your face that’s when it’s becomes uncomfortable! Like Stacey said definitely stay mobile, try and find the happy medium between resting and staying active because the last thing you want to do is seize up. I’m a very active person and resting isn’t something I do very well but moving around does help. Drink plenty of fluids and healthy foods, alternate your meds so your constantly covered and sleep as upright as you can. I bought some arnicare tablets which helped with my swelling and bruising. Other than that make yourself a brew and get in bed with a boxset and try not to worry. Day 5 will be a different story I promise xxx
