Hey girls,
Well it’s finally here! I’m heading down London tonight for 7.30 admission time tomorrow. I am so nervous about the Canula in your hand the big needle 🙁 and being put to sleep! I’ve never had GA before so feel myself getting nervous already,
How was your experience? Am i stressing out for no reason?
Ahh positive advice would be great great great xxxx
Heya I was scared about the GA too but i was actually fine! The needle really isn’t that bad at all and your body sort of goes all heavy when you fall to sleep. Everyone reacts differently afterwards but for me personally I felt a bit sick and I was really annoyed that I had done some work in my dream that had now gone lol xx
Hey Sophie , I was the same but I promise the Canula feels like a normal injection and you won’t see it go in , and when your about to go under they will talk to you , keep you calm then before you know if your waking up !
I have a phobia of being sick so asked for the maximum anti sickness I could possibly have and I wasn’t sick.
Honestly it’s over before you know it x
Hi Sophie,
I was the same, I have a huuuge phobia of vomiting so was absolutely prettified (especially after previously suffering with sickness after ops)
I promise you I actually loved it!! It was the best part of the whole day. It was a strangely calm environment and I was asleep within seconds. My canular was in the elbow crease and didn’t hurt at all going in, although uncomfortable afterwards I think this is purely because of where it was.
I felt woozy after but had also asked for as much anti sickness as possible! I wasn’t sick and honestly wish I could have GA everyday I really enjoyed it!
Good luck with your op and I wish you a speedy recovery xxx
Hi I have my op tomorrow too I think I’m too excited to be scared and I have had so many ops in the past least this one is one i want, I don’t think I will be sleeping tonight xx
I was nervous being put under but I loved it!! Best feeling ever it’s like being the most tired u ever been in your life and u just doze off. When u wake up in recovery they have a tube thing blowing heat under your covers keeping u warm xx
Good luck with your op Hun 🙂 just think you’ll have a lovely sleep and wake up with awesome new boobies 🙂 x
Thankyou so much for all your messages xxxxxxxxx I’ll keep you all posted xxxx
I’ve got mine tomorrow too, I’ve felt anxious and scared in the run up but feeling ok now! Excited! I think I’ll be nervous tomorrow but reading this forum has been a great help 🙂 xx
It was the only thing I was nervous about but I’d do it again in a heartbeat! My anaesthetists were lovely and chatty, I didn’t notice the cannula going in, I remember him saying “you’ll feel heavy…” and I was out, came round feeling really with it, I was crying but I wasn’t upset and I was chatting away to my recovery nurse like normal, had a little nap to sleep off the GA and then they brought all my food in (I wasn’t with MYA and had lush food!) didn’t have much appetite but I did feel better for eating and then was fine! Slept through the night fine, didn’t feel sick at all. You’ll be totally fine love!
Had mine done 20th December last year – I was terrified of not falling asleep/being knocked out and as they wheeled me in they were asking me questions n I remember saying “but I don’t feel tired, just a bit pissed” – next thing I came round and asked when I was going down!!! They laughed and just said you’re done sweet.
I was woozy and a bit nauseas after but had some anti-sickness and was right as rain! It really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be…..I tend to work myself up over all sorts! You’ll be fine. Enjoy the experience – all part of the journey but best part is you wake up with gorgeous boobies 🙂
Goodluck!!! Xx
@vogue2016 Dunno if you’ve been in yet but I’m all done and I feel great! Absolutely nothing to worry about!! xx
