How long do I have to wear these stockings for?

I was told 2 weeks. I wore them for the first 4/5 days as I spent quite alot of time in bed and wasn’t moving around much. I think when you start moving normally and are fairly active you can stop wearing. You only require to wear them if your not moving around, walking much as then theres a higher risk of DVT.

48 hours I wore them for but I wasn’t with mya and everyone gives different advice x

I wasn’t with Mya. But I was just advised to keep them on until I was fully mobile again. I was moving around from day 1 and going for short walks so I only kept them on for about 4 or 5 days, mainly coz I was paranoid about dvt! If you’re up and moving every hour or so and not bed bound you shouldn’t need them for more than a few days x

I was advised 48 hours – as I was mobile from day one I took off on day two .

They should measure you up and supply you with them on the day of surgery x

Bea They will give you a pair in the hospital before your surgery.
