A question I never really asked..
I’m not at the age to have them yet but was wondering about mammograms?
I have read it can be difficult for them to see behind the implant is that true?
    I have unders.

If you have unders I can’t imagine they would need to see behind your implant. The muscle and breast tissue has been pushed forward so in theory there shouldn’t be anything in the way of that as implant is behind it all. Hope that makes sense x

I have just been reffered by my GP 2 days ago for an urgent Mammogram, obviously it’s in my refferal notes that i have under the muscle implants but i still have to be sure to tell them on the day, i was advised that the nature of my investigations might lead to them not actualy performing it on the day and being sent for an ultrasound or MRI depending on the risk of a mammogram but my first port of call is still the breast clinic, i know from my own research there are 4 extra shots taken for ladies with implants to ensure accuracy of results so i dont think anybody should worry that having implants would lead to non detection i just think it’s critical that you also do verbaly inform your examiner on the day (highly unlikely they would miss that in your notes but not impossible) hope this helps xxx
