    Hi,

    I’m due to have my surgery next Friday, I don’t plan on driving for over a week whilst I’m post op. I’ll be around 10 days PO before I resume driving and was wondering how you ladies dealt with the seat belt against your breasts on the day of being taken home from surgery? Do I need to get a pillow of some sort or anything, I’m worried that it will cause uncomfortable rubbing whilst driving if I don’t have anything there as a cushion xx

    Are you having over or unders? I had unders and couldn’t drive until 15 days post op so take it easy.
    I also couldn’t wear my seatbelt correctly for about a month and slipped my over through it to keep it off my chest xxx

    Hi,
    I had unders too and going home day 1 post op I wore my seatbelt underneath my arm. The most painful bit was defo round abouts! I was driving at 11 days post op but I’m 16 days post op now and I still can’t get into 5th gear or turn my steering wheel properly when holding onto the top of it. Xx

    Hi Ladies,

    I will be having unders, I may have to rethink my return to work day. Haha! I was planning on being able to drive back to the office 10 days PO. My office is around a 20 minute drive from my home.

    I was considering getting a cushion to have as a barrier between me and the seatbelt? Xx

    It’s more the being able to change gears and have full control over the steering wheel than the comfort that is the hardest. A pillow would probably help, but I just moved the seatbelt position for a few weeks.
    If you drove an automatic it may be easier? I just couldn’t physically move the gears for a while! Even though I felt absolutely fine and pain free. I tried on day 10 because my recovery was great. And I ended up pulling over in tears so just be wary xxx

    Hi Georgia-May,

    I had my op nearly 9 weeks ago now. I had 415cc partials/unders and I was able to drive 9 days post op. Was a bit weird at first but I soon got used to it. I had to start driving as I had a 4 hour drive back to work at 14 days post op. Everyone is different so see how you go. Have a test drive when you feel comfortable and maybe try and get two weeks off if you can x
