Hi girls! Quick question. Iv watched the video on the mya app and it says about not taking the pill before surgery and if you are due on your period on surgery day some surgeons might not operate! Anyone had any experience of this and thoughts? As my date is around my period time and I’m worried!

I’m not sure really, the nurse on the day asked me if I was on my period and asked if I needed a pad as you have to use hospital ones. I wasn’t on my period but from what she said it gave me the impression it wasn’t an issue. I just made sure I came of the pill and had a period before the op. Xx

@Nadine I had my surgery 28th May, and came on my period morning of surgery(admission time was at 7am and it started it 6am ????), I was given sexy surgery pants and I put on regular always pad before I went up for surgery, nurse helped me change post surgery because I was out of it and sore ???? the most embarrassing thing ever, but they were super nice. Surgeons are different, but I don’t think it’ll be an issue.

Ive been taking the pill for years but at my pre op was told to stop taking it asap because i had to be off it for at least 3 weeks and can go back on it 2 weeks post op? Not sure it each clinic has different rules

Thanks Heidi! That’s what iv read so I thought that might be the case! My boyfriend won’t be coming near me in that space of time to risk my boobies Hahahaha!

Yeah same haha and that meant i got my period two weeks before my op so it worked out well
