So I’ve booked my surgery for August 13th, yay!! I’m so excited and not worried about the pain, but I’m really scared about being out to sleep lol I watched a stupid film about someone who was awake during surgery and I’m freaking out!! Do you dream? Do you go to sleep quickly? I think how some people can’t be hypnotised because they just ain’t there in their brains and worried this is the same!! I know it’s not but still.. anyone else felt like this?

Hey, honestly don’t worry you’ll be fine. You literally just drift off, I’ve never dreamt and I’ve been put to sleep 7 times so my breast enlargement will be my 8th. I’ve never had a problem xx

Don’t worry about it, you just suddenely feel really drunk then you just pass out, waking up was the worst bit for me, I was so hot and my face was mega itchy (some don’t react that way though)

I think everyone’s experience is different, I was so scared being put to sleep but all the people in the theatre with you take your mind off it by talking to you. My experience was really good, they let me know when they were going to put me to sleep and I can’t even remember going sleepy or dizzy or anything. I can remember dreaming but literally for like 2 seconds, then I woke up and was in recovery, I was up and asking questions straight away and felt fine, I just couldn’t see properly it was all blurry. I guess it different for everyone though, my sister said it felt like she blinked and woke up and didn’t even realise she’d had the surgery lol xxx

I’m the same! My surgery is booked for July and the only thing that has stopped me doing this years ago is I didn’t like the thought of been put to sleep! Probably worrying over nothing but I stupidly read horror stories xx

The nurses are super friendly and talk it through, calm your nerves and are so lovely! They will inject you and be talking to you and you start feeling like your head is super heavy and your mega tired. Your then out within seconds and don’t dream, don’t feel anything. You just wake up hours later, and there are nurses right there if you need anything. They give you pain relief and take you back to your room with your friend/partner/family member. It’s honestly nothing to worry about !

I was super scared too, never been put to sleep beforehand but honestly one minute your talking to the nurses, suddenly feel really tired and bam your waking up in recovery? Don’t dream or take ages to fall asleep even when you try fight it like i did. Theres also a nurse literally just watching your heart rate etc and if anything even twitches or looks like it could be wearing off they give you more so there’s 0% chance of you waking:) xx

I’m the same. My surgery is in 3 days and I’ve never been put to sleep. That’s the only bit I’m worried about :/

I’ve only been put to sleep 1 time (for something else) so when i get my BA it will be my 2nd and call me stupid but I quite liked it if I’m honest. They told me to count down from 100 and all I remeber is getting to 95 and next then I new I was wakìng up with a man beside me ask in if I was ok I was freezing so they put thia blanket thing over me what blew warm air and this made me fall back asleep ive no idea how long for or how long i was in surgery for.
If you’ve got children you’ll understand why I was loving it as it felt like the best sleep I’d ever had since having kids there’s nothing to worry about you will be fine and be ever more exciting knowing your going to wake up with a new pair of Twinnies ???????????????? xxx

Thank you all so much for your reassurance I know I sound silly but I just need to try and relax and think what I’ll be waking up with 🙂
