    Hey everyone!
    I have been thinking about getting breast enlargement ever since I realised I wasn’t naturally going to have them!
    I’ve noticed a few topics on here about nicotine testing..
    I know smoking is bad for you! But I am a smoker. I’ve had surgery on my leg to have a vein removed and I never quit before this and wasn’t tested..
    I was just wondering what happens if you are a smoker? Do they test you? Can they cancel your surgery?
    Any advice would be appreciated 🙂

    It depends how much you smoke, smoking delays healing and there are more chances of blood clots during or after your surgery if you smoke, they ask you to really cut down at the very least but it depends on your surgeon, everybody gets different advice from their surgeons so it’s difficult to get a diffinitive answer! Sorry!

    Hi, I’m a smoker also 🙁 when I had my surgeon consultation with Mr mounir he asked how many I smoked I said no more than 10 a day and after that he asked to me sign this contract thing saying I’ll quit before surgery. I’m in the process of waiting to see another surgeon. I think they can do just random tests the day of surgery and off reading a few posts they can refuse to to the surgery if you still have nicotine in your blood. I’ve already read people try stopping 2 weeks before there actual surgery so they have none in there system xx

    I tried to quit…I cut down. Let’s just say i wasn’t strong enough lol ! I’m 4 days post op now. I was honest with my pc and she checked with my surgeon as i had heard about being cancelled on the day etc. He said he didnt think it would be an issue. Told my nurses and anaesthetist on the day..there was no nicotine test. It affects your oxygen levels but mine were perfect. Didn’t smoke on the day and did cut down quite a bit. I think it just depends on your surgeon some are stricter then others. If you can quit go for it cause its definitely better and less risk with healing etc. Hope that helps xx
