    Hi all

I am booked in to have my surgery on the 28th of October – I’m so excited!! I am starting to try and organise post op bras, I ordered one from M&S the same back size as I usually am but just a bigger cup size. However now I’ve tried it on although it fits my back now I’m not sure if it’ll fit after surgery due to the swelling etc?? Does anyone have any advice on this? Also I feel like the cup size may also be abit too small, I’m currently around a C/D having an uplift with implants to around hopefully a DD and the bra I ordered was a DD but I’m not sure if it’s going to be too small with swelling etc??

Any help is much appreciated!! Xx

Macom bras are the best as you don’t need to guess what your size will be after the operation. If you write “mybreast” in the coupon/promotion box, you’ll get 15% off.

Hi! I’m.having the same trouble too I’ve got my surgery on 11th oct I’m a D and was told to buy an E for after an uplift and 300cc but after trying these on I’m not sure they will fit at all there wasnt much room in the F either . Was told by a PC that there shouldn’t be much room as it should be acting like a compress. Has anybody given you any more info and been helpful at all? X

    Hi

I’m having a look at Macoms and I think I’m going to order one of them as the reviews I’ve seen are generally very good. Then I’m going to keep my m&s one too as a one to wear while the macoms being washed I think!! The only thing I’m stuck with now is size for Macon I don’t know whether to get the M which is my normal back size or a L for the swelling??? Xx

I read somewhere that you should go up a back size so its not too tight on the insicions but then others saying it’s got to be tight… it’s so confusing when there are so many to choose from and like you said there doesn’t seem to be much difference between cup sizes. Have you looked at the mya ones ? They have the multi front fasteners so it can be as tight as you want xx

Hi All. I had an uplift with implants on the 18th September. I had the same concerns. I went up a back size and went up 2 cup sizes when buying my bras. What I have realised is that your breasts change every week and this weekend I have gone down a back size. I spoke to my nurse last week and she said it’s about comfort whilst you have the stitches. I too bought bras from M&S (3 cost £75!!!!) but haven’t worn them yet. I found a great zip sports bra in Sainsburys for £14 and realised this is much better on the purse! I plan to use my M&S bras once my stitches are out and I have a better idea on what size I am. I’ve kept receipts so I can exchange also. Hope this helps ????

I bought myself one from Sainsbury’s today myself for £14 probably the same one got an E and am F as I’m a D now.
I’ve got my surgery on the 11th and getting very nervous now. I hope it’s not as bad as I’m worrying it will be x

    Hi
I had an uplift, 280cc mod implants and fat transfer on 24th sept. I have lived in m&s sports bra as I feel it offers so much support. I have a Macom which I wear whilst m&s is in wash, but I don’t feel it offers as much support as m&s one. This could be because I opted for a bigger back size and doesn’t feel as secure. I was 34d to start with and my m&s sports bra is 36dd although I do feel my boobs want to burst out of it.. I also have m&s in 34dd but this is way to small (prob due to swelling).

    Hi MUM1

Thanks for the advice re the bras I’ve heard the m&s ones aren’t true to back size so you have to get a size up so I’m going to send mine back and up a size to make sure I have enough room with the swelling! Hope your recovery’s going well, if you don’t mind me asking how are your pain and discomfort levels?? I’m having an uplift with 340 implant in one breast and the corresponding symmetrical one in the other one ( I have severe asymmetry) on the 27th of October, and I’m just curious about the pain levels. Thank you xxx

    Hi grace
To be honest the pain is not to bad, it’s mostly tight and slight soreness. I managed with taking just paracetamol every 6 hours for 5 days and now I just take 2 before bed. (11 days po). The worst part for me was waking up from the anaesthetic, I had not prepared myself for constantly feeling sick and not being able to eat. I think this could be because I had quite a long operation due to having fat transfer ( take fat from hips and thighs and inject into boobs) . In terms of m&s bra I would deffo get a size up in back . Good luck with your op and hope you have a swift and trouble free recovery. It will totally be worth it.

M&sS post op sports bra £25 (black & pink) you get it for about £20 as they deduct the tax from it. Gives very good support but I recommend going up a back size, due to swelling after surgery.
