    Hiya!

I have my consultation this week and my only concern with having my BA is the recovery time. Are there any mummies with some advise for me? I have a 4 year old and an almost 6 month baby. How long will it be before I can pick him up? How much help will I need with the kids or will I be okay to get on with day to day life a few days after the op…?

    Please help!?!??

They will tell you 6weeks. But I had a 2.5year old and 11month old and could comfortably hold them after a few days but only did if I had too. Bf went back to work at day 9 so was on my own I did ache a bit towards the end of the day but i managed. I only really found hoovering difficult till about 3weeks then was completely normally. My pain issue was extreme tiredness in the first few weeks I had to have an afternoon nap to get through day but I didn’t really suffer any pain. I had overs 🙂 x x x

    Hi, I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I’m 15DPO.
You’ll be advised not to do any heavy lifting for 6 weeks. I wouldn’t feel comfortable lifting my children unless absolutely necessary yet, and I haven’t done so yet.
I’ve been really lucky that my fiancé doesn’t work Mon-Fri so he’s been around every couple of days, and on the days he’s not here my mum has stayed with me. I have no idea how I wouldn’t coped without this support system, I guess I just would’ve had to somehow!
Can your partner take time off to help you? Everyone heals differently so it’s hard to say how you’ll feel, but the last thing you want to do is cause any damage to yourself! For the first few days after my op I felt regret and misery (!) because I couldn’t do normal things e.g. hug my children properly or pick them up. It was really hard.
I’d say my recovery so far has been amazing, I’ve had no pain, just soreness, swelling and just feeling uncomfortable. Deposited of that I’ve still felt how I’ve described! I imagine it would be even more difficult with a 6 month old x

Thank you both for responding. My partner is self employed so he wouldn’t be able to take much time off but I’d be able to get my mum and his to help me for the first week or so. I just don’t want to feel like I’m taking the Mick and both mum’s think I’m being selfish having this done when I have 2 kids and something could go wrong.
Well my son is almost 6 months at the mo, so by the time I have it done he will be prob moving around a lot so I guess it will be super hard. How about driving? Do you have to wait long to drive? xx

    Hi
I’m now 6 weeks post op and still find pain in lifting my 1 year old.
I really struggled with recovery couldn’t tie my hair or dress myself or even change my child nappy for the first 2 weeks even after then it was extremely saw.
I needed a lot of help HOWVEVER everyone’s different and you won’t mnow till after your op. I get a lot of inflammation in my incisions so I get the occasional sharp shooting pain so it was difficult. Good luck xx

I think if you go for the op you’ll find a way round the awkward bits! If you search the forum for ‘recovery time with children’s there’s loads of other posts, so you won’t be the only person to have gone through with it with young children.
I’m 15DPO and I don’t feel confident enough to drive yet. Also as a trying to avoid heavy lifting I wouldn’t be able to get my children in/out of the car anyway.
I felt like a burden after my op! I couldn’t really do anything, but luckily my mum.was great. In fact she said she liked it that I needed her for once! X

Hi I have a 1 year old and a 4 year old and I was quite surprised how limited I was, I really struggled to to just basic things for the first week, I ended up going to stay with my mum, I couldn’t lift my eldest for about 3-4 weeks and my 1 year old until about 8 days!
So I’d say get some good support in place as I thought I’d be absolutely fine !
I had unders though, but we are all different so fingers crossed your recovery goes smoothly xxx

Hi, I have my op in just less than 2 weeks and also have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. My husband has managed to take a week off work to help me. But after that I will have no choice other than to do everything myself as I aren’t telling anyone about the op. I will also have to drive to do the school run…hoping and praying I’m ok to do all this!! X

@RACH let me know how you get on! Good luck! Are you having overs or indeed? I have my second consultation on Friday EKK xx

I’m having unders…so meant to be more painful. Op is on Sunday so getting very nervous now. Will do xx

@RACH I hope it all goes well and isn’t too painful. The PC said that I maybe able to have overs. I think I’ll just go with what the surgeon suggests. What are you stats and what cc are you going for? Did they say what results your likely to get?
They have a space for me on 29th Nov to have it done, so excited! X

I’m 5’5, 9 1/2 stone, size 8/10, flat 32a. I was offered 250, 275 or 300cc hoping for a full c/ small d. Need to do the rice test to see again as it was awhile ago I tried the implants on. Aww wow that’s great I could have had mine sooner but waited until school holidays as we are talking the kids with us (not hospital I will be on my own) x
