Hey girls, I’m only 5 days post op at the min but I go back to work next Wednesday so all together I’ll have 11 days off from my op, my recoverys been so slow but my tightness has eased so much, I’m still soooo sore and can’t walk properly, my posture just looks awful and I can’t use my left arm at all, just wondering will the next 6 days make much of a difference? I know everyone’s different but I’m worrying so much I’m still gonna be in a bad way 🙁 I’ve got a desk job but I work 10-11 hour days so I’m getting nervous about going back! Any advice will be so helpful please xx

Emma I kept joking that I looked like the hunch back of Notre damme hahahah,I was so hunched over for days!!!
I was only able to get 5 days off and I’m a phlebotomist (take bloods) and run my own clinics at a doctors.
I couldn’t get any more time but I struggled and was in quite a bit of pain when I first went back.
If you have sympathetic boss I would request more time 100% x

Oh that’s exactly what I’m like Bianca! I tried to stretch a little bit and felt like I was pulling on my incisions! I was worried and my surgeon said loads of girls go back after a week so I’ll be fine but I don’t get how that’s possible for me right now ? how many days would you say would be ideal to have off? I feel slightly better today thank god! X

I would suggest 2 weeks ideally, especially with unders but I know it’s not always possible.
I just wish I had been more prepared for how I felt and struggled after, even changing gear was a nightmare!! X

    Hi

You can ask surgeon for a fit note or ask your Gp. They don’t write specifics on it. Mine just said post surgery.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice girls, I’m 7 days post op so far and go back in 4 days, only thing is at the min my posture is soooo bad and I literally can’t move my left arm at all or I’m in AGONY! My surgeon said it could take up to 2 weeks so hopefully I get there by then! I didn’t realise how much I appreciate my arms until now ? xx
