Hey had my op yesterday and just wondered if it was normal for one side to ache more and the same one that ache the nipple is numb? No pain just aching xx
Hi lovely, my left nipple went numb for about a day or two after the op, the other one went almost numb briefly. It’s now 2 weeks post op and they have both gone overly sensitive instead! Have a read on here about random pains, aches and sound that can happen, I have had a few, but don’t worry it’s normal – and I barely have any of those now so I’m sure you’ll be fine too 🙂 xx
Thank you so much for replying. It’s made my mind settle now xx
Hi jade, I’m 6 days post op now and my left boob is so sore, I keep getting shooting pains through it then into my nipple but my right hand side is completely numb haha! I called the on call nurse and I between my codiene I’ve been taking ibruprofen which has worked a treat!
Hi sain. Glad I’m not the only one lol so reassuring it’s not just me. I haven’t took the codeine yet as dont really want to take them unless I’m in loads of pain. But my left boob it definitely worse out of the two! Xx

Hey girls I am 4 days post op is anyone else feeling fed up? I’m struggling to sleep sat up and I am getting pain in the side of my right boob. Any tips on sleeping/coping. I’m very happy wth the results but can’t be excited with how I’m feeling at the moment up and down with pain x
Hey,
If your not taking any pain relief I’d suggest taking it before bedtime, I take my last set of codiene at 7 and then ibrupofen at 10 before I go to sleep and I have no pain at all throughout the night! Get yourself a v shaped pillow! I put mine in front of my pillows and it kept me upright throughout the whole night.
Yep! Dreadful pain in my right boob only, the left completely fine. I suffered BADLY for a day, cried a bit through the pain, tried to be tough and not take pain killers prescribed but caved that evening and took 2no. ..what a bloody difference!! Called nurse next day, even though I felt a little better and she said to keep on top of the pain, taking the Co-Dydramol regularly…which I did. Oh my! Yes…agree with that wholeheartedly!
Also….ice packs. More so at bedtime for me, two sitting slightly above my boobs and a small pack on side boob of one that was painful (wrapped in pillowcases).
Day 11 today and I’m now trying paracetamol and ibuprofen coz I’m scared I may get addicted to codeine-based pain relief. You just have to play with what works for you, hun and MOST importantly CALL your clinic. I was in pain but also think that was enhanced because I was scared that the pain meant it had ruptured (on reflection I think that would have been obvious). My nurse, Abby, was amazing and reassured me and helped me to relax.
Good luck and dose-up! Get as much sleep as you can, and walk as much as you can (little but often). And please don’t overdo it lifting or reaching for things. Do everything sloooooowly ? xxx
