Worried about tear drop implants Started by: Eleanor

I already have 265cc, round, high profile, over the muscle. I have the recalled Allergan implants so that’s part of the reason I want to swap, but also not happy with how they look. I want to go bigger and need some pocket revision doing. I have mild constriction of my lower poles and short distance from nippple to lower inframmary fold. I feel like my breasts don’t have that natural drop to them which I’d like to have.
A surgeon I saw proposed to release the bands to help with constriction, do some pocket work and increase to 400cc. He said tear drop implants would be best to try fill out the lower pole. My worry is that they can flip and move. Has anyone had this happen with tear drop implants? Could I still get a similar result with rounds?
Would appreciate anyone with anatomical implants advice/experience/pictures. Thank

There is a 3% risk of rotation with teardrops, but textured implants are less likely to rotate. If you want lower pole fullness as opposed to the round upper pole, then teardrop might be easier to achieve that. But round still looks very natural once they drop and fluff into the lower pole, so it’s worth asking what the difference would be if you got round vs teardrop

Hello I’m 2 days post op (see pic before and after) just had the same: allergen round 350 ones replaced with anatomical high profile 535cc as they are taller so although bigger size they have the same projection as my round ones.,I was worried about having s flat upper pole but so far 2 days in even though still swollen I think the shape will be fine. I think the surgeon is careful with the pocket size so rotation hopefully never happens. I also think having tear drop has helped produce a better slope the sudden change of the round ones I had before especially now I’m older (justvturned 40) hope all goes well for you!

I had 350cc teardrops sept 2016 and they looked amazing and so natural but last year started to get problems and by April 2019 one had completely flipped and rotated and I’ve just had to have revision and change to rounds. As a result I also had to have an uplift as the misaligned implant made my breast sag slightly. There is a 3% risk as Lara said and unlucky for me I was one of them. Don’t mean to put you off and they did look so good at first I was so happy with them but it does happen xx
