Hey girls;
I had my BA in Thursday 26th and and as soon as I woke up in recovery I was in so much pain. I had a lot of drugs but nothing seemed to take the pain away. I’m now 3 days post op and I’m still in a lot of pain 🙁 I’m on regular medication ibuprofen, paracetamol and codeine aswell as antibiotics. I’ve also got anti sickness tablets as my nausea is terrible!! I had 270 cc in my left boob and 240 cc in my right boob under muscle. I’m back to my clinic on Friday to have dressings taken off. Did anyone else find recovery really painful? I’m dreading having them done now due to all this pain 🙁
Hey Olivia, I was exactly the same. I had mine yesterday (400cc left and 375cc right unders) and I was in agony when I woke up. I was expecting to still be numb but it was unbearable and they gave me more morphine which helped a bit but it was still crazy painful. Day 1 post op and still in pain and just loading up on all the meds. With unders it is supposed to be more gruelling, hang in there! You’ll start to feel better soon xx (I’m glad I’m not the only one! ?)
Hi Reni,
I am so pleased I am not the only one! I knew there would be pain but I did not expect the pain this bad 🙁 it’s so hard getting up and moving about. Hopefully I will soon start to feel human again. Hope you have a speedy recovery and thank you for your comment❤️❤️
No worries Olivia, I didn’t expect this kind of pain either! I’m forcing myself up to have a little shuffle about to help blood flow and that seems to help but then get tired and have to go through the ordeal of lying back down again. Hopefully we’ll be back to our best selves soon, good luck! Xx
Hey Olivia, how’re you getting on today? You’re two days ahead of me so just want to see if this gets better any time soon! Today has been killer so far, a lot worse than yesterday. Tell me you’re much better ? xx
Hey Reni,
I am doing a lot better today I’ve took a slow walk up and down the garden just so I can get muscles moving however it’s really wiped me out. I’ve managed to get my hair washed by my family member to as I was so ready for it to be washed and it has made me feel 100% better. I am eating a lot more better today as I’ve suffered with the nausea terribly but I think it’s the antibiotics. Sorry to hear your having a bad day ? yesterday was defiantly my worse day so I’m hoping you will have a better day tomorrow!! How is your pain in your chest?x
Hey Olivia! Oh I’m soooo glad to hear this! Hopefully onwards and upwards now. I feel a bit better than earlier but I have just loaded up on more pills. The pain in my chest is still there, it comes and goes depending on where I’m at with the painkillers. Horrific when I catch it, it’s so shocking. Thanks for updating, looking forward to feeling like you tomorrow! ? xx
Hey Reni,
I’m pleased to hear you are feeling a little bit better. I do feel so much better today and today’s been my first day I haven’t taken any pain killers!! I still have the pain in my chest and struggle to get up and back down but I can see that I’m getting there. My only worry is now that my left boob is bigger than my right ? but I’m hoping that’ll go down once swelling has all settled. Keep updated and I hope you feel better tomorrow?
Hey Olivia, ok so my right boob today is much bigger than my left (even though my left boob has the bigger implant!) which is worrying me too. My right boob is the one that’s giving me the most amount of grief so im guessing it’s made it swell loads. I’ve iced loads and I think it’s helping. The night was horrific again (damn that shooting pain!) but the day a bit better. I think I’ve resigned to the fact that the nights will be bad and hope the morning comes quick. How are you? Better?? Xx
Hey Reni,
I’m exactly the same with the swelling? my bruising is terrible around it aswell. I haven’t tried putting ice on though so I might try this if it’s worked for you. I feel your pain with the night situation I dread it when night approaches? do you have a v shaped pillow? I have one but I find it so uncomfortable!! At least where in this together❤️
Hey Olivia, it’s so good to be able to talk to you about this. I’ve got loads of bruising around the left which somehow worked it’s way down to my stomach which was interesting. I do have a v pillow but it gets so frustrating in the night trying to adjust it. I think we’d suffer a lot more without it though! Definitely try icing, it helped me. Just the sensation of the ice was relieving enough and I’m pretty sure the swelling went down. The night is approaching once again ? Good luck with your sleep tonight!! Xx
Hey Reni,
I can’t believe your bruising has worked it’s way down to your stomach!! I hope that disappears for you soon. Yeah the v shaped pillow gets really uncomfortable for me with having to adjust it when I wake up constantly? I had a better nights sleep last night I just wake up in the morning with the stabbing pain in my left hand side which is horrendous! How was your sleep last night? And are you feeling any better this morning? Are you also on antibiotics?xxx
Hey Olivia,
Oh the stabbing pains! I had those plus my left nipple felt like it was on fire. The night was once again tough but the day was so much and today has been better too. I even walked around the park very slowly but did feel like my boobs were about to burst open for some reason. I’m guessing it’s the blood flowing through?! I am taking the antibiotics but I’ve stopped the pain meds because I was having nightmares and I can’t deal with those! ? How are you? Did the ice help? You’re almost a week PO right? Xxx
Hey Reni,
Aw I’m so pleased you was able to walk around the park this should help you loads and I can imagine your feeling a lot better today too? My boobs also felt like they was going to burst open when I first went out for a walk and my back ache was horrific? I feel better now within myself but still have pains and my bruise on my left hand side is causing me a lot of pain 🙁 I just want to take my sports bra of to relief the tightness of it! The ice has really helped thank you for that suggestion. I’m one week post op today! I go back to the hospital tomorrow to have my dressings removed which I can’t wait for as they are really starting to itch now which I know is a good sign but it’s so frustrating especially at night. It will soon be your one week post op!xxx
Hey Olivia, awww congrats on getting to one week! I think the worst of it must be over, surely?! It’ll be my one week on Saturday and I see the nurse on Monday. Cannot wait! My left boob is also giving me grief, the bruising and burning and weird pains. I’ve been naughty and releasing the boobs for a few minutes the last couple of days while I ice and it feels amazing. I’ll probably get told off for it though ? how are you getting on with your strap on top of the chest? I can’t stand mine, can’t wait to get rid of it. Good luck tomorrow with the nurse. Hope she tells you good things! Xxx
I hope both of you feel better soon. I was wondering if you sleep ok in the first week? I will have my BA in 2 months time so I have quite a few weeks to get myself ready for what it will come, lol.
Hey Annlee, thank you! I sleep terribly anyway but this past week has been particularly difficult. I kept waking up in pain several times in the night. I did last night a couple of times and I am 6 days post op. But people do respond differently so it could be ok! Before my op I slept like a starfish so I could really enjoy the bed before all the pain and sleeplessness ? xx
Hey Reni!
Just been to have my dressings taken of by my nurse and all looks well. Apart from my really bad bruising on my left hand side but should go down soon. I go back to see my surgeon next week also so he can have a check up on them. I also said about how I have lost sensation in my left side boob and she said it will all come back shortly. I just have my Steri-Strips on which I have to take of myself on Sunday. I am feeling so much better within myself I actually feel human again!! How are you feeling are you getting there now?
Hey Annlee,
I bet your excited for your BA! Being totally honest sleeping was a nightmare for me ? I would recommend you getting a v shaped pillow as you need to sleep upright. However I found the pillow very annoying at times but without it I would off been lost. Everyone’s so different in how they handle things. Good luck❤️❤️
Hi Olivia ahh yes! That’s great news so pleased to hear you’re doing well and everything is normal ? I’m so looking forward to feeling like you on Sunday. I’m definitely getting there, managed a longer walk in the park and feel more energetic. Those damn shooting pains in my right boob are still there though, looking forward to saying goodbye to those soon! On wards and upwards ☺️ Xxx
Yes I am very excited and I’m counting the days now lol.
How do you use the V pillow? Sorry for the silly question but I am not sure
Aww it is super exciting! You just put the pillow behind you with it pointing upwards and snuggle in xx
