Hey, I was wondering how long it takes to recover from a partial under the muscle implant. I know they say it takes 6 weeks to recover fully but you can go back to work after 1 week, but I’ve heard that under the muscle is a longer recovery. The surgery dates I’ve been offered are at the end of April but I have to go back to uni in early may. Do you think I will be okay to go back to uni?

My surgery was 10 days ago and I had dual plane unders, I have been driving and dealing with the children, light housework since day 1 post op. I have another 5 days before I need to go back to work and I have a heavy job (i will need to take it easy), had I had an office job or sitting at uni etc I would have felt able to return after about a week. Everyone recovers differently and I do have quite a good pain tolerance.

Hi Hannah, I had unders and had originally booked 2 weeks off work. I was up and about from day 1 and went back to my office job a week early after 1 week. I guess everyone is different, perhaps I was lucky but going on my experience you’d be absolutely fine to go back x
