    Hi girls,

    I’m in the early research phase and interested in hearing clinic and especially surgeon recommendations for around the Birmingham area. A lot of the surgeons I’ve looked into so far seem to be either in the north or south and I think it would be easier to stay local if possible!

    Any help would be much appreciated xxx

    Hi Claire.
    I was under the impression that if you went to Birmingham clinic as I did that they did surgery local. But they don’t. I am booked with mr Mashhadi. My surgery was meant to be tomorrow but it’s obviously been postponed. But we were having to travel to London. Different surgeons work from different clinics but none that I know of actually practice in Birmingham. Don’t quote me on that but that’s what I am led to believe. I had Preston or London to choose from with the surgeon I am going with.

    Ohh I had no idea about that Dee, how strange!! Will you need to stay over in London then or are you allowed to travel back on the same day? Fingers crossed yours is rearranged for some time soon xxx

    They ideally want you to stay over as we are so far from home. Which means booking hotels Etc. But we are hoping I can be a day case. My hubby will take me & stay with me for as long as possible but it does all depend on the time of the surgery etc.
    I personally think I’d rather stay over as I’m scared! But I guess until I get my new date & times etc I’m not going to know or make any plans.

    I was hoping to have the procedure done in Birmingham too but unfortunately it looks like we would have to go down to London! So I’ll have to put my fiancé up in a hotel for the night. It’s not too far in the grand scheme but it’s just another thing that makes me feel nervous about actually going ahead with it all!

    Yeah I know what you mean Emily, would rather keep it as straight forward as possible as there’ll be enough to stress about 😂 are you booked in already? It looks like transform have a hospital in Bromsgrove so I might go to them for a consultation first x

    Hi both.
    The Bromsgrove clinic is literally ten minutes up the road from me! Yet I decided on MYA & will now have to travel to London. If I were to give any advice – I’d say do plenty on research as this is why we decided on MYA.
    I guess you will travel far & wide if you are to wanting receive the best treatment & outcome based on research, testimonials, recommendations & the experience already received to date.
    My surgery has now been rescheduled for August & I’ve been told it’ll be The Harley Health Village. Don’t get me wrong – I’ll be a nervous wreck, but like to think I’ll be looked after & in great hands.
