so im 7 days post op and tbh im still in really bad pain. day 1-5 was awful and I am a bit better but when I wake up and sit up I feel like there’s so much pressure pulling down. is this normal ? also im black and blue tbh all ver and my scars sometimes sting or burn a bit and the sensations are always changing. I still can’t wash my own hair or move about tbh I can do simple things but the only way I can sleep is on my side which is also a bit weird ?i

Hey! It’s definitely normal so don’t worry! Your body is adapting to 2 new implants, skin (and muscle if you have under/partial) has to stretch and settle, as well as internal bruising, external bruising, fluid is still draining for you, honestly it feels horrible! The pressure on the chest was probably the worst feeling for me, I couldn’t breathe properly cause of it! This seemed to get better about 1 1/2 – 2 weeks for me! My scars didn’t really bother me much until week 2-3, my right side was stinging and itching and I hated that I couldn’t do anything about it!!

I really struggled with sleep myself, as I’m a side sleeper, so having to sleep upright for the first 2 weeks was a task! I had constant back pain because of it, what I found helped a lot was putting a pillow under where I sat, because sleeping upright a lot of pressure goes onto the bottom of your spine, so sitting on a pillow helped me a ton! I’d say to try and sleep upright as much as you can! As you’re only 1 week post op, sleeping on your side can affect how the scar tissue forms, it’s really hard I know, but it definitely gets better!!!
