Tubular breast – Concerns, questions, advice Started by: Samantha

    Hello

I had my surgeon consultation yesterday with Dr Giannas. It was a little bit rushed due to him falling a bit behind on schedule, the conversation was a bit awkward, blunt and rushed. I felt a little uncomfortable and a bit confused.

Dr Giannas has suggested for my tubular breasts, that I should probably have a Mastopexy to help the tubular breast issue and I asked if I could have my breasts at a similar size. Due to my left being smaller compared to my right. I would guess my left is probably measured as a “mid B” size and my right being a “borderline C” size.

After checking measurements and how much breast tissue there is, he suggested not to go any bigger than 325cc in my left due to there not being much breast tissue underneath to support the implant.

I tried a 275cc in front of my left due to the 300cc implant being missing for the appointment and the 325cc looked a little too big. Dr Giannas said that the 300cc in my left might take me up 2 cup sizes. If I went with the 275cc/300cc in my left, he would try sizes 125cc-250cc to see which would match best.

I wasn’t really thinking about going bigger by much, more just hoping they would be closer matching in size, after explaining to him that I didn’t mind going up a couple of cup sizes, he seemed a little annoyed as I didn’t really mention that and that my concern was having them being closer sized. Considering his question was roughly – “What is your main goal you wish to accomplish”, which would be for my breasts to be closer sized to one another.

Dr Giannas has suggested that a mastopexy surgery with subglandular textured round implants and a lollipop reposition of the nipples might be best.

It was also suggested that I might need to return in a year for another uplift, depending if my boobs sag with the implants.

Could anyone please help me with advice, experience, pictures, motivation, ANYTHING! That might help me with this journey before I 100% commit to it!?

    Thank you x

    Hi
I had tubular breasts mine were much worse than yours, I didn’t want an uplift so the surgeon , dr Sleiter lowered my breast crease and added 350 cc implants.
They look and feel so natural I love them. 10 months I’ve had them.

    Hi Samantha,

I had Mr Giannis, I had tubular breast and I had an augmented mastopexy with 275cc High Profile textured implants, sub-glandular . I had a lollipop incision. I opted for subglandular placement because I already had breast tissue.

I wanted my breast to be perky, natural and not too big but I did want to increase my size slightly to balance out my proportions. I was a deflated 34C before surgery – I’m now a 34DD. I’m 5’8 a UK dress size 10/12, and I’m slim/athletic build around 11stone. – I feel like this is useful to know because when I was doing research most people were a size 6/8 and flat chested which is nothing like me!

Mr Giannis recommended I go for 300cc after I showed him a picture of the sort of thing I wanted, but when I tried the implants I felt that was too big for me. I juggled between 250cc & 275cc for a while but in the end went for 275cc and I couldn’t be happier with the result!!

If you are unsure I would recommend speaking to other surgeons and seeing what they recommend. It’s a big decision and it isn’t cheap so I wouldn’t suggest going into something you’re not 100% certain on.
I understand what I you mean about Mr Giannis, I found that he was a little impersonal on one occasion, but I guess that’s maybe the cost of having surgery through a large company rather than a private consultant/surgeon. It’s a daunting experience, especially when you’re not sure exactly what you need doing to achieve the look you want and you want professional, comforting advice. – – – However, I’m really pleased with the results Mr Giannis achieved, his stitching is really neat and he was great at advising what I should have done to achieve what I wanted.

I’ve attached photos of before & after, I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions at all, happy to answer 🙂

Thank you for the message, I haven’t checked the forum for a little while but that sounds interesting, lowering the breast crease?

Oh wow! Thank you for that information HH!
I am similar to yourself, I am 5’6 a UK dress size 10/12 I tend to bloat as I have IBS but I wouldn’t say i’m fat, more slightly pudgy and around 10 stone 3.
I think i’m going with the 275cc or if Dr Giannas feels as though my breasts can handle 300cc/325cc without issues, then he might try doing that
I have committed now and am petrified, I hate needles and start feeling faint with blood tests, so i’m worried for the blood test before hand and the canula going in my hand. I have a fear of being sick so worried about waking up and the possibility of being sick.

Had my consultation with me giannis I totally agree I found the conversation so blunt and awkward but I suppose I am going on his skill not personality! But I am a deflated C and going for lift implant with textured fuller implants. I felt like I wanted to cry when he was blunt about the outcome but I spose I’d rather that than someone who is leading me on and at least he is honest. But yes wasn’t the best experience lol

Second appointment with me Giannas went so well really confident in going into surgery with him and he was so lovely to speak to… in all fairness I honestly think it’s the masks that make it hard to see people’s expressions when speaking! Was nice to have a lovely second conversation/meeting with him!

I am now 6 months post op, had my 3 months post op check with him, he was so so lovely and was so happy with the results that I’m seeing him this month for 6 months check up just to take progression pictures!

I think it is due to the mask as well as him making sure this is something we want and not something we’re forced into or second guessing ourselves, he is so lovely and was so understanding of how I felt on the day of the surgery!
