Heyyy, I need help! I’ve got a special occasion upcoming and i’m only 3 weeks post op.. but i was just wondering if anyone has taken off their bra for a night off😩 i’m trying to sort outfits and it’s so hard with having this thing on..

I completely understand the importance of wearing it but didn’t know if it was ok as a one off or is it better and safer to keep it on?

I’m facing the same predicament, just want to wear nice clothes but if I take my bra off for more than 30 mins they start to feel uncomfortable and unsupported. I think I heard it’s best to keep it on for the first 6 weeks but I’m not a surgeon/expert. I reckon phone up MYA and ask, people seem pretty helpful when I’ve phoned in with questions so far. X

I have been given a cotton bra with lacing to wear at night if I felt my post surgery one was too tight, from time to time. I had a party yesterday and wore it almost 24h. I am 4 weeks post op and before yesterday my chest felt fine, really soft, most of the pain gone, was able to lift my arms. I woke up this morning after wearing the cotton lace one in which I put some inserts from one of my sports bra for a bit more support and Unfortunately after a few too many drinks I started dancing and jumping around so today I am really paying for it, I feel like I’ve gone back 2 weeks on my recovery 😭
I really hope it’s just all the strain and I’ll be fine tomorrow. I’ve got my one month appointment on Tuesday so in 2 days time so I’ll get properly checked.
I would say avoid not wearing anything at all and if you do, make sure you don’t dance or lift your arms or whatever else. Even if you feel fine to do it, it’s not worth risking it.
