Hi Ladies,
I have some questions which I am hoping people who have had the surgery will be able to help me with. I’m not scheduled until October ( due to work and a holiday in the summer ) My husband is in the forces due to to away 2 days after my OP ( typical) and wanted to see what people could and couldn’t do after. I am aware that people heal differently also. I have a dog aswell and is it realistic that I will be able to walk him ? He pulls quite a bit too. How long was it until people drove again? Can people at least lift their arms to tie their hair up? lol. I will have my mum who can come to me on a regular basis and friends on hand to help too. It’s just to get a feel of it affecting every day to day life 🙂 Thank you
Hey, I had surgery on 15th April, my recovery has been really good. I drove again 6 days post op, although it still felt a little uncomfortable. I was able to lift my arms up enough to wash and dry my hair 4 days post op and didn’t have any issues putting it into a messy bun myself after surgery. Tried to get back to some gentle activity the Monday after surgery although walking felt exhausting because of the pressure on my chest, however Ive just built up on this. I would say get your mum or a friend to walk your dog for the first couple of weeks after surgery as if he pulls it will hurt your chest x
Hi Jenna
Thank you so much for that. I have my first appt in June time, can I just ask what you had done? Thanks
I just had my surgery (8 hours ago) I’m in no pain at all and able to lift my arms above my head. I would hold off walking your dog until at least a week or 2 if he pulls, just cause you don’t wanna tear any stitches. Also as you’re going in October take cold and flu tablets prior to surgery as they refuse to do surgery if you’re ill and October-December is when everyone gets the cold and flu! Good luck!!💜
I had 350cc, hp, dual plane. I’ve heard dual plane is the most painful in terms of recovery but I haven’t found it too bad. Will it be your first consultation in June? x
Yes it’s my first face to face appt with the surgeon in June time so I’m right at the beginning. What does over and under the muscle mean and how do they decide on what to do? Does it depend on your skin and the way your boobs currently sit? Will deff take the cold and flu tablets thanks for the heads up 🙂 xx
Also did you guys just get the pre op bras somewhere else? I’m tempted to order one on amazon as its a fraction of the price of the ones that most people tend to get (I forget the name of the brand) xx
Over/under the muscle is implant placement and your surgeon will recommend the best option for you depending on breast tissue, the result you’re after etc. I ordered my Macom bras however I was away for a few days before my surgery and didn’t have them to take with me to hospital on the day. I ordered one from Amazon so I had one with me that I wore after surgery. It’s never been back on, the Macom bras are pricier but worth the money imo xx
I had mine done on 22nd April Dual plane and only had a bit of pain in the one boob for the first few days but I think that’s because I was trying to do stuff the day after operation. You should be fine to move around few days after but take it easy. I also wouldn’t recommend lifting your arms above your shoulders for the first 2 weeks as the implants need to settle.
