GOING/COMING HOME ON YOUR OWN Started by: myajo

Hi Jo,

I had my op 2 day’s ago & although i am feeling fine on myself i have appreciated the support from my mum & my partner, i have two children aged 10 & 6 who are quite independant, as in they can dress themselves etc – How old are your children?? Would you be an overnight patient?

I dont want to cause you unnecessary worry but i think you will find it quite hard hun, you are bound to feel quite groggy as you will be dosed up with painkillers i know i wouldnt of felt safe getting a train home on my own – Have you not being offered transport to & from the hospital?

Im sure i read somewhere that mya can arrange for some help with transport to and from hospital…I would try and get someone to stay with you for the first 24hrs as you’ll be having general anathestic and it can make you dizzy, I fell down twice after having my op, luckily once in hospital and once when my bf was there. Being honest with you about your children, I definatly couldn’t have looked after anyone else for at least the first 2-3days as its hard enough to just get up yourself and you sleep ALOT…I feel really bad for you now! Can you get some help?xx
