I’ve seen loads of threads lately asking about what bra to get for after a BA, what size, how tight should it be, and so on. So Here’s a run down of the most popular choices for post op bras:

MACOM – does up at the front, you can make it as tight or loose as you need, has no seams & goes down below your scars & above your boobs so it’s more comfortable than normal sports or surgery bras. Only need to buy one size (your normal back size) as it has expandable cups to fit whilst you’re swollen and after as well.

Buy it from https://www.macom-medical.com/products-40-breast_augmentation_surgical_bra.html (code 1007 is the one most girls have). Put “mybreast” in the discount code box for 15% off. You can also get it cheaper on ebay or on here if someone is selling second hand. This bra is the best of the choices though won’t win you any beauty contests :D Definitely worth the money. Buy 2 so you can wash & wear.

ASDA, M&S, TESCO all do post surgery bras. The M&S are more popular and tend to fit better, but lots of girls have said Asda & tesco are also very good.

    AFTER 6 WEEKS

After your 6 week check I highly advise you get a high impact SHOCK ABSORBER bra, they are absolutely brilliant and I slept in mine, sometimes using it interchageably with the macom until i was comfortable enough to start wearing normal bras again. It’s also the best I’ve found for gym, and anything high impact like horse riding, running, and dance.

    FITTING

Your post surgery bra should fit well, otherwise it will do more harm than good. It should be supportive and feel tight but not too uncomfortable. If you take it with you to your first check up with the nurse they will show you how it’s supposed to fit, and shops will also fit them for you just like a normal bra. With the MaCom you just buy the size that corresponds to your normal back size. With the others you might want to get a couple of sizes (what you expect to be, and a size bigger than that to account for swelling).

Feel free to add any more suggestions girls, or ask any questions about post op bras here :) xx

That’s brilliant thank you!!! I know mr chantarasak doesn’t really rare macoms but think I’ll get one as you just need to know your back size! And a few different sizes in the m&s ones xx

This is brilliant. Also mr russo uses breast bands but your pc should order this for you. Either to arrive at your home or the clinic before your op. I am 1 day post op and have been told to wear only my breast band for 1 week and then my macom after that although I was allowed to put my macom over the top for the journey home x

Royce bras are amazing, the X static one has silver in it to aid healing and it is the comfiest thing ever- longline too so it doesn’t rub against my dressings. 100% recommended! xx

I have Dr Adamo on the 11th of July and he said I didn’t really need to wear one after surgery?? Did I misunderstand him or has he said this to anyone else??

Obviously don’t want to wear it if I don’t have to, but also don’t want to risk my new boobies by not wearing one!! Haha!!

If your surgeon has advised not to wear one then go with what he/ she says. Each surgeon is different. Mr K for example has you wear tape for a week, while others don’t x

Hi, I am having an uplift done soon I may go a size smaller depends on wether I have implants or not. I have a macom bra and I tried it on to make sure it fits. It feels very comfortable but it does make my breasts look a little squashed when I look down at them, but to look in the mirror it looks fine and my husband to be says it looks fine too, just want to check if this is correct or to get a bigger size. Its 34 which is what I normally measure.

    Hi meln,

    Thanks for your post :).
Each surgeon tends to have their own preference regarding sports bra’s. Please Message me your full name and PC’s name and I’ll check this for you

    Many thanks
