Our forum has evolved and matured over a number of years but its purpose has not changed. Back in 2007 we identified a need to offer more online information to patients and to also create an environment for patient feedback, both good and bad. Many companies hide away from feedback but we as a business try and learn.
We welcome and encourage feedback so that we can learn and improve. We want our forum to be a fluid, friendly and professional resource for patients to tell the world about their experience and to share some of the emotional and practical issues that they have faced along the way. As a business we want to learn from experiences but it also allows prospective patients to learn and to ask questions. Yes a patient could ask us questions directly but we wanted an environment where contact could be made directly to people who have completed a similar cosmetic surgery journey.
Our forum is not however a platform for the promotion of other websites, commercial enterprises or an individual’s non MYA cosmetic surgery related activities. We do not hide the fact that this forum is connected to our business. From time to time posts promoting others interests crop up but they are not part of our forum purpose. There are plenty of online opportunities to promote and our forum is not for this purpose. Can you imagine for example a famous coffee shop allowing its competitors, even a local coffee morning, to be promoted in its outlets, it is just not appropriate.
We will also remove posts that offer a negative opinion against someone else who is not able to defend themselves on the forum. This for example could be where patient confidentiality could be breached. We understand that frustration may lead to people wanting to emotionally share their views which whether right or wrong often form only one side of a story that cannot be completed. This does not mean to say that we remove everything negative as hopefully you will see by reading our forum that very little is ever deleted and we do retain fair and balanced negative comments. Generally though, although far from perfect, we do get things right and we put much of that down to the transparency that the forum provides about our business and from learning from people like you.
Over the next few months we will be looking to improve our forum further. We are going to carry out an extensive review and we would welcome a Private Message from anyone interested in taking part in a series of discussions about how we can make our popular forum even better.
