Hi all I’m 7 days post op now and feel great…however there is just one thing that is realy nagging at me and i wasnt warned about this also i havent read anywhere that other people have this problem after the op. I dont want to bother the nurse again with daft questions. The skin over my boobs, on my arms and armpits is really sensitive. It feels like my clothing is rubbing all of the time and chaffing, although my skin has no rash or marks. Its as though its still numb to touch, there is just a slight tingling sensation. It has been like this for the last 2 days now, anyone got any idea what it is and what i can do, my bf thinks i might have got freezer burn as i had the frozen compress on all night at first and couldn’t feel it cos of the swelling and numbness, either way its driving me mad!xx

    Hi There,

I am now three weeks post op and still have a ‘numb’ sensative sensation around my breasts and espeacially my nipples. It is a very strange sensation, i agree. However, I understand that when the implant is inserted ie a pocket made for the implant, that there is a very strong possibility that some nerve endings are affected and consequently surrounding areas. Apparently this can take some time to repair itself. But I would def check with the nurse an/or surgeon..that is what they are there for.

    Good Luck

i had a similar problem. the nurse told me that because your skin is stretched it is also stretching the nerves and they can take time to settle. my nipples had a mind of their own and one minute they were super sensitive and hurting and the next I couldnt feel them. its completely normal and will settle over time xxx
