    Hi,
When i went for my consultation they were adamant that you are not allowed to travel on your own and not on public transport even if someone is with you.
I don’t think they will let you get a taxi back on your own either. It would be worth speaking to your PC and seeing what they suggest.
I live in cornwall otherwise i would have offered to go with you.

    Hi Suzanne,

My husband owns a house in Porth. My best mate lives in Newquay! Have you had/going for a BA? Yeah all is good. nice to be back to normal! Still feel restricted though as I have this corset as I mentioned, but it’s doing its job! Nice to be able to show it off soon!

i have just read my whole information pack, and nowhere does it say you cannot travel on public transport if your with someone so if they have not warned me prior to admission i have no reason to not do it.

    Hi everyone again

I do not mean to sound ignorant, but why can we not take the train back home?? Surely as long as you’re sitting down comfortably (just as if you were strapped into a car seat) it should be fine the day after?? Wouldn’t you just be asleep on the train anyway?? Surely having a tight seat belt on inbetween your newly operated boobs will be more sore/uncomfortable than sitting on train?

I don’t mean to go on, but like Stacey says, are MYA going to pay for the

    Hi Stacey,
I was informed by my PC that i was not allowed to travel on public transport even if it was the day after surgery and told we had to drive!
Hi Claire, glas to hear that you are all healing nicely and can start swimming. I live in newquay so not far at all from you.

    Hi Suzanne,

I am living in Bodmin! Yes, It’s 4 weeks tmrw that I had it done and I went up to Bristol on Sat to see Dr Chantasarak for a follow up, and it’s looking really good. Thje scar is healing nicely. I have no pain, though I still have to be very careful with what I am doing and have to make sure I don’t over do it! I am still wearing a corset, which I have to keep for at least another 2 weeks. I am now able to start gentle exercise again, so going to start swimming! The tummy tuck has made such a difference for me. I now have a bit more confidence and even when I am dressing, my clothes actually look nice now! Lol

To Stacey, it may be worth talking to the pc about it. As we had to go to London from Cornwall, I actaully got

I guess it’s not reccommended but i think it’s purely upto you and at your own risk, it’s probably just because you’ll be falling asleep from the aneasthetic, I am going home on a train with my partner as i cannot afford to pay

So ladies, if you are a daycase for a BA, and stay over at a nearby hotel for the night (I’m staying at Muswell Hill) you cannot go back home the next day with your partner by train? Even if you leave it 2 days til you travel back on train?

    Hi,

I live in Cornwall too! Had to go by car with my husband. You are not allowed to travel by public transport accompanied or not! I do believe that MYA can organise transport if you need it. We were going to fly to London, but they said no way and they ruled out travelling by train! I had a tummy tuck and not a BA. But it’s the same rule. I think they will cancel the operation if they don’t feel you have suitable transport. Talk to your pc as Suzanne mentioned.

No person after surgery is allowed to take themselves home on public transport. Even with someone there. Have to travel by car or taxi! If you haven’t got someone available to escort you, the chances are they will postpone until you DO have someone available

    Hey
I dont think the hospital will let you leave if they think you are travelling alone on public transport. Personally I couldnt of dragged my suitcase and another bag up stairs at the tube ect. Could you not get a taxi or someone to pick you up even if you travel there alone before your ba. x

Hi i wanted to do this but was advised strongly not to as you will still be drowsy/sleepy following surgery so you will need someone to pick you up i did obtain a quote for a taxi service to take me home to bristol from london and it worked out
