hi sonia
no problem, like jacqui said, were all here to help eachother…..as u know my surgeon was mr adamo and after my 1st consultation with him i made up my mind that i wanted him to do my ba! hes so nice and trustworthy…..so i defo recommend him. as a patient, its ur right to have as many consultations as u like with whoever u want at mya so make use of it. u can also request a consultation with mr adamo and then make a decision.. i went from a b to dd/e so mr adamo does that size too…..also not all surgeons use dissolvable stiching and i asked my pc specifially for some1 who DID use them, that automatically eliminated some surgeons off my list….i asked for this as i had red somwhere that dissolvable stiching gave better results and also reduced the risk of infection….its a personal choice though…..

hey kt
no im still not using mine.hehehe…..i bought one from M&S for 20pounds and still have it just incase but havent used it yet…..i think ill keep it for when i can go back to the gym…..i have very long hair too and my sister helped me wash it, i dont think u can wash it on ur own yet…..we can take a shower on day 10 i think so for now im making do with shallow baths and one hair washing session grose i know.lol its really really important to keep ur stiches dry to prevent infection so make sure u get as much help as u can with bathing and washing ur hair. its not too bad though…buy some baby whipes .

haha, I was thinking of buying some just in case, probably from asda though!! lol. Well, I think my bf will have to help!! haha. I think thats going to be a real pain, just because my hair is about 25 inches long (just measured it!) lol, and I wash it every other day!!! grr. Thank you for your advice though, at least I know what to do now! lol. I wish they would invent some sort of boob container for the shower!! lol coz then all you would have to do is strap them on, and have a shower as normal then take them off and wash your boobs separately!! haha

Agghh thats good as im stressing about those!x
Hi Sonia
Re: Mr Adamo – before i went for my very first consultation with my pc, i had already been on this forum for weeks, and had read everyones storys. I decided that i wanted to see Mr Adamo, because of all the good reviews i had read about him (although lots of the other surgeons also had great reviews too). I asked to have a consultation with him, and decided there and then at my consultation with him, that i wanted him to do my surgery. He just made me feel very comfortable, and that’s the most important thing.
You may have to see two or three surgeons, before you make your mind up, or decide on the first one you see.
Good luck, and don’t feel rushed into making a decision before you want to.
xx
girlies
just to let u know if u would like to see mr adamo u can call mya and ask for nadja who was my patient coordinator and tell her i recommended you, as i have asked her if thats ok with her and shes confirmed shell be more than happy to help u guys to make a decision on surgeons, implants sizes etc…. i strongly recommend her as she is truely great and made my experience very very enjoyable and stress free! hope this is of some help to u guys.

Oh Princess Maya-you star:)My pc with MYA is Samantha, I live near High Wycombe so went for my initial consultation at Watford. She said Dr.Singh but Dr.Adamo would also be a good choice for me if can’t get to see Dr.Singh.I will phone and ask to see both-trouble is I have to travel in and out of London all the time and have to get my hubby to have a day off each time and I really need his days off for when I get op done-if!Does anyone know at what point they say you need an uplift?I remember Harley said it when your nipple as low as the crease in your breast/underarm and with one boob I was just on it, other one okay but they said would need it.MYA said I could measure myself-sumet bowt 21cm??But forgotten if it from shoulder or coller bone and if it was over21cm/21cm or more-anyone any idea?Thank you.
Jacqui, I will go see Mybreast soon and the surgeon I see at initial consultation would be the guy doing op so i will know if like them , then I think I will see both Dr.Adamo and Singh with MYA and maybe Harley aswell but all this travel is costing a fortune:(
Thank you all again for your advice and support xx
no problem hun! give a them a call and book a free consult! sorry i dont know anything about uplifts
maya

Hi Jacqui-I just read that you breastfed 3 children- I have fed 4 and Harley street said I am borderline for needing an uplift.Did you have an uplift or just implants? We can’t afford uplift so I am praying that Dr.Singh thinks it is possible to create what I want with just a B/A.
Princess-thank you for writing that it is well worth the wait and money-I have waited15years and am still feeling very guilty about spending that amountof money on myself-though i am sure my hubby will enjoy it too once he sees how much confidence I will have compared to now-I won’t let him near me at mo.
KT-Who are you having your surgery with?
sonia xx
hey congratulations, so pleased that everything went well for you
We chatted the other night, Mr Adamo is giving me 380 HP overs on 19 August, so only 13 days to go for me
Take care, drink loads of water, and get plenty of rest.
Please keep us updated on your progress, i’ll be checking
Jacqui xx
Thanks jacqui
the count down is on for you! i know how it feels.lol trust me, its well worth the wait and money. ill let u know how the post op appointment goes…at the moment my incisions are a bit itchy and apparently it means im starting to heal which is great considering its only been like less than 40 hours! make sure u have a very healthy diet in the days running up to ur ba, it can speed up healing enormously! have loads of fish and olive oil etc… xxxx

Thanks Maya
i’ve heard that the incisions can be itchy for weeks, but it is suppose to be a good sign!
Do you have any bruising? i’ve been reading on another forum that taking Arnica is good for them. I did buy some Arnica tablets yesterday, but not sure if they are recommended. Might check with my pc.
Hope you’re still feeling good this morning xx
hi jacqui
i feel much better this morning thank you! had a very good night last night. i moved from my bed to the recliner sofa, its so much like a hospital bed.lol its very comfy that way, ill defo suggest u use it instead of the bed if u have one (if not u dont really need one, just use a lotta pillows and ull b fine). i dont have any bruising at all and my right implant is dropping a little already and is less hard to the touch which is good. and ur right the itching i was told is a very good sign. are you getting overs or unders? i got overs and with that its much less likely that you will bruise BUT even if ur getting unders the bruises will go away on their own and if u want to use anything regarding that i really recommend u ask ur pc first, they may suggest a cream instead of tablets so that they dont intefere with ur antibiotics or painkillers.
anything u wanna know, let me know.

Hi Maya!!!!
So lovely to hear your detailed story!!! Really puts me at ease! I have yet to book my date for surgery, but hopefully within the first 2 weeks of september!!! Do you have to sleep sitting up?? also is the swelling really bad?? You see I’m worried about the swelling afterwards being massive!! I really dont want to look like two basketballs!!!!
Love KT
xxxxxxx
hi KT
im only 2days post op so i have to say im not 100% comfy or anything BUT im not as nearly uncomfy as i thought i would be, every1 is different but i personally feel ok. im not sleeping sitting up, but ive got two pillows that i rest my back on and im using the recliner sofa coz its like a hospital bed and so easy to change ur position during sleep so i prefer that to the bed. id say im kind of leaning back when i sleep but not 100% flat on my back. the swelling isnt so bad either, the implants are a bit hard to the touch and kind of defying gravity perfectly at the mo.lol but not too bad, it takes a few days to a few weeks to be able to get the final result and for the implants to drop a bit and soften up. i was assured by mr adamo that the basketball look is not permanent. so dont worry, ull be fine! i also have no bruising or excessive pain or stretch marks or anything else that worried me b4 hand.lol hope this helps.

Hi Maya
Glad that you’re still feeling good today
Yes i’m having overs too (have breast fed 3 children, so have plenty of breast tissue!) but i do bruise very easily, so got the arnica ‘just in case’!
Also heard that sleeping can be a problem, i need to get a v pillow, not sure where to buy it from? Unfortunately i haven’t got a recliner, so will have to make do with lots of pillows.
take care hun xx
hi jacqui! try IKEA for the v pillow, im not 100% sure but i think they may have it.
hi ladies
ive finally done it! lol had my ba yesterday (aug 5th) and feel ok after a relatively ok night’s sleep……..went in and checked in around 945am yesterday at highgate hospital, the nurse came to see me about 1030 and told me ill have a bit of a wait, she took my bp and asked a few questions, gave a paper pants top etc…got dressed and waited for an hour or so to see mr adamo…..dr chitra the anaesthetist came and asked more questions and was very nice, then around 12, mr adamo came and drew on me, took pics and calmed my nerves.lol he is awsome, ill defo recommend him!!!!!!!!! i waited another 45 mins and off i went to the theatre….there i met the theatre nurse and dr chitra again and was put to sleep while having a convo about my medical school.lol the canula hurts badly and i knew that so i asked for some numbing cream b4 hand…still hurt but not that bad….next thing i remember is waking up in the recovery area to the lovely nurse who was in charge of me that day….b4 i went in, i got a txt from my pc wishing me luck and a promised hug on my post op visit to mya.lol Nadja is a sweetheart!
anyways, so my chest was soooooo swollen and still is! i feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest and wont move!lol the pain isnt so bad actually and i got given painkillers and 5full days worth of antibiotics….mr adamo said i dont have to wear a sports bra and so im not, and i feel fine without it….its a bit hard to walk at the mo and i can hardly do much but my post op appointment is at 4pm on wedns and apparently i should feel miles better by then….someone from mya called me twice today to make sure im ok…so that was nice too….
dont wanna go on and on and to be honest my arm hurts a bit so i hope this helps and if any 1 has any questions i can help with then dont hesitate to ask. bottom line: no regrets and im so happy with the results so far! i was a 32b and had a 410cc overs high profile and will be a 32dd hopefully, ryt now i look about an E….swelling….
thanks to all the girls who put their stories up! it really helped me calm down and go in for my BA informed and relaxed so hope i can help som1 else too….

hi sonia
no problem, i really do think its worth it. dont feel guilty, i know u have a family and its harder for u than for me to spend that amount of money on urself, im not a mum but i know a happier more confident mum means happier kids and hubby so good luck and enjoy it!
maya
xxxx
Oh thanks Maya, I just wish my hubby was a little more encouraging but think it cos it is his money we are using. His mum gave it to him last year and after he paid off the 15k he was in debt by he had a little left over.We have no other savings so I feel bad and worry he will resent me for it.I will try chat it through with him again. Thanks for your words of support xx
its definately the best idea to talk it out with him, uve carried 4kids and no doubt it would have taken its toll on ur body and ur mind, this will help u physically and emotionally improve, i really doubt he would resent u for trying to restore ur confidence and happiness by doing this BA. u know him and ur relationship best but from a 3rd person’s point of view, u have nothing to feel guilty about! try to keep a positive attitude and show him what this means to u, if he sees u happy then hell be happy. he wouldnt have agreed to this in the first place if deep down he didnt want u to go ahead?! be excited and put negative thoughts out of ur mind, sounds to me like u diserve it!

Hi Soniarobin,
In answer to your question, although i have breast fed 3 children, i am very fortunate that the shape of my breasts are still quite good (probably because they are not very big, and i’ve been quite lucky and never put much weight on, apart from being pregnant and then only putting on a max of a stone each time) and therefore i don’t need an uplift as well. I’m having 380cc overs, on 19th August. I’m a 36 small B at the moment, and been told that this should take me to a D cup. I’m sure that your hubby will be over the moon when you get it done! Although my hubby says he is quite happy with the way i am now, i know that he is looking forward to me being a bit bigger!!!
Hi Maya,
hope that things are still going well with you? Are you still sports bra free? How’s the sleeping going?
Hope that you are still resting lots xx
hi jacqui
im doing good thank u….sleep is getting easier each night although im normally so active and finding this resting period soooooo hard.lol miss the gym and full shopping days out the itching is killing me but hey at least im healing…so im trying not to complain.lol the implants have started making random noises, my pc says its normal and its because theyr dropping and softening up…so far so good. how are u? not long left for u now! xx
Hi Sonia,
I’m having my op with Mr Adamo at Highgate Hospital on 16 September!!
Hi Maya,
Did you wear a sports bra straight after surgery??
