They give you co-dydramol 500mg. I am 5 days post op and am starting to come off them today as they make me quesy. So far paracetamol is enough but will stick with codeine at night. Only you can decide how long you will need them for as everyone is different. Speak to the nurse about what you already have and dont forget to check the use by date lol

Ha ha laceymay! The co-dydramol are a mix of 500mg paracetamol and 10mg of codeine and i could take max 2 at a time, 8 in 24hrs.
Antibiotics are for 7 days but i had 2 days of iv antibiotics as well so hopefully im well covered 🙂

Co-dydramol is waaaaay stronger than codeine. I’m on prescription meds for joint and muscle pain 🙁 what painkillers you’re given will depend on the amount of pain you’re in and your tolerance to them. Opiate painkillers (codeine, tramadol, co-dydramol etc) are for pain, NSAIDs are for swelling but also offer pain relief. NSAIDs are the likes of ibuprofen, dicofenac and naproxen etc. xxx

what i said above was right lol. codeine is for mild to moderate pain depending on dosage, co-dydramol and tramadol is moderate to severe. xxx
