7 Days Post BA! Started by: Kerri

Just thought I’d post my story as reading posts on this forum really helped me before my BA!
Had my surgery last Sunday at Highgate with Mr Kazzazi. Had consultations with a couple of other surgeons before seeing Mr Kazzazi but after my consultation with him I knew he was the man for the job (haha) and booked with him pretty much straight away! I went for 450 TSF unders which is what he recommended to take me from barely an A to a D/DD. After reading what other people have had I was worried that 450 would make me bigger than that but then I figured that Mr Kazzazi is the expert and has enough experience and knowledge to know what would suit my body so I decided to listen to him! I’m a 36 back and size 12 in clothes.
Everyone at Highgate was really lovely, it was just a really long day – got there at 7am and left at 9pm! My mum was so bored waiting around bless her!
I was so nervous before hand but everyone put me at ease and thankfully I was the first patient to be seen so I didn’t have much time to freak out! Went down at 9.30am and don’t remember anything after that until I was bought back to my room at 11.30am. The anaesthetic made my face and head really itchy for the whole day, the first thing I remember about coming round is scratching my head loads like I had fleas!!! Mr Kazzazi popped his head round the door at 4pm to see how I was doing and to let me know he’d be back about 7.30pm to discharge me.. He actually didn’t come back until about 8.30pm by which time I was more than ready to go home! The nurse took the drains out which was less painful than I thought and gave me my painkillers and antibiotics then I was on my way home!
My boobs were wrapped up which was slightly frustrating as I couldn’t wait to see them. I was also a bit disappointed as they looked quite small and as I heard people saying that they start off swollen then get smaller I thought I’d almost be back to what I started with and it would have been pointless! Wrapped up they also looked quite cone shaped! I have since been told that under the muscle they ‘fluff’ and that I should expect them to get bigger than they start off so that’s a relief!
Was quite sore for the first few days and my boyfriend nicknamed me spaghetti arms as I couldn’t put any weight on my arms – my stomach and leg muscles have had a really good workout this week!! My boobs felt really tight and it felt like I had bricks sitting on my chest. The bandages felt like they were really pushing down on them and felt really uncomfortable. By Wednesday I stopped taking the painkillers, then on Friday MYA called and said that they had double booked my appointment to get the bandages taken off on Saturday so did I want to go in that day so of course, eager to get them unwrapped, I did! With the bandages off they looked much bigger and more boob shaped rather than cone shaped so I was very happy! I also feel a lot more comfortable without the bandages on. They are still sitting really high so I am looking forward to them dropping into a more natural looking shape. The incisions haven’t quite healed so they are still covered and where the drains were I have the ugliest blackest bruise! My stomach is also still really bloated from the anaesthetic – 7 days on and I still look like I’m about 7 months pregnant – cant wait for it to go back to normal! (Any tips to get rid of the bloat?!) I was also told that a side effect might be that I would temporarily lose sensation in my nipples – in fact it has had the opposite effect.. My nipples are now so sensitive that even the slightest touch feels uncomfortable!
Bought the Macom post op bra and although slightly expensive it is really comfortable and gives me the support that I need.
All in all I am really happy and can’t wait to finally see the end result!
