Hey Hun, My admission time was 7.30am but I got there at like 7. Had to fill in a form then was shown to my room which was pretty much like a hotel room with a hospital bed! Nurse came and gave me gown and had to give urine sample to check I wasn’t pregnant (bare this in mind – try not to go to the loo before they do this!!). Then was hanging round until about 9 when anaesthetist came in to see me (she just said hi really and asked if I had any questions) and then the surgeon came in 5 mins later to draw on me and also to ask if I had any questions and to sign the consent form. Was taken down to the theatre by the nurse at about 9.30am. The next thing I remember was waking up in recovery but must have fallen straight back to sleep because I don’t remember anything else about recovery and the next thing I knew I was being bought back into my room at 11.30am all done! My boobs were all wrapped up so I couldn’t see them which was frustrating and I had drains in. Was given some tea and toast and then was just in the room sleeping/resting. The surgeon popped his head round the door about 4pm to see how I was and said he’d be back about 7.30 to discharge me. Had dinner about 6ish and then nurse came to take drains out which was much less painful than I thought! Then more sleeping/resting! The surgeon didnt come back until about 8.30 when he had a look, asked if I had any questions and then I was ready to go home. By this time I was more than ready to go home! I would suggest if anyone is staying with you to make sure to tell them to bring plenty to do – it wasn’t so bad for me because I was sleeping etc but my mum almost went out of her mind with boredom waiting around from 7am – 8.30pm!
Feel free to add me as a friend if you want hun and ill be happy to answer any questions!!
If you are a day case i think all you really need to take is stuff to do, your post op bra and comfy clothes that do up at front for afterwards as you wont be able to put anything over your head!
    Hope your surgery goes well!!

All depends on your admission time and what time you have your op. my admission time was 8am, I was back from theatre by 11am and they let me go home at 2.30pm, so for me there wasn’t really any waiting round at all. Probably depends on if you have drains aswell as maybe they have to be in for a certain amount of time, I didn’t have them so that may be why.
I took a book and my tablet but didn’t get to use either as was in and out that quick 🙂 x
