I have my BA on 6th Feb with Mr Traynor, now I know he doesn’t use strappings, only over incisions.

When do the strappings get taken off the incisions & when will I be able to wear a normal bra?

you shouldn’t wear a normal bra until after your six week appointment, as wires will push your implants into a higher position and can cause irritation and possibly infection on your incisions xx

I thought it would be at least 6 weeks, maybes longer.

I’m getting so excited & just trying to find out everything possible. I like to know what’s happening & be organised.

My nurse told me 8 was before I could wear wires
Every nurse or surgeon recommends slightly diff but generally 6-8 wks

Hi Gemma,

I had my op with Dr Traynor on the 18th Dec, I had small plasters over my scars which was great as I could look at the results straight away! I had them taken off the week later at my first check up, the nurse trimmed my stitches and I’ve just been using steri strips to keep them covered since, as it can be quite uncomfortable if they rub on your sports bra. You’ll need to wear a sports bra for the first 6 weeks, I’d recommend the ASDA comfort ones, I don’t know what I would of done without them.
