Hello Ladies – I am going into Park Hill, Doncaster tomorrow morning for closed rhino with Mr Lancer. My admission time is 8.00am and Im starting to feeling a bit nervous! I am thinking of posting a daily update charting progress from admission, surgery and recovery. I was wondering if there is anyone on here that is thinking of rhino, or is going through consultation or waiting for their surgery who would be interested in hearing my journey? I only ask, cos I have spent weeks on this forum scanning for rhino stories dying to hear what everyone else went through! if I get a couple of replies, then I’d be happy to share the details with you hoping that it will help you when your time comes! Best wishes to you all. Nx
I’ll be interested NikkiB… I had my pre op consult with the nurse yesterday and have my op on the 29th at Highgate! š x
Hi everyone – thanks for your replies! I just got home today and kept a diary whilst in hospital. I didn’t have a 3G card for my iPad so couldn’t come back to you before today, sorry! My diary is quite long …. Would you rather I cut and paste it here on the forum board, or email it to you (thru this site) individually? Also, diary is just for first 3 days and I was going to chart healing and other bits and bobs too. I really hope u all find it helpful. I am going to share one piece of advice with you here and now ……Take a tin or pot of vaseline with you. You will die without it, trust me!! Your mouth and lips get SO dry, it’s awful. Let me know what you would prefer and I’ll spill the beans so far! Nx
I had my nose tip reshaped on Saturday 16th! I had a liposculpture done aswell. My nose isnt in any pain what soever BUT get prepared for the worst cold you’ve ever had!! lol My nose keeps leaking..I know nasty lol Just trying to help here lol Good Luck!!! xxx
Hi candy – I know what you mean. I can’t breath at all and every time I try to eat I feel like I’m suffocating! I do feel like I have an awful cold and I am so clogged up with gunk it’s horrid! I was going to see if I could get some advice here too. I’m also going to do a quick google search. If I find anything useful, I’ll share it with u. X
Cindy …. So sorry. My iPad keeps auto correcting if it thinks I’ve spelt something wrong. Bloody annoying!
Haha no problem Nikki x Btw I didnt look at the date and only just realised you’ve just had it done! Did u have the bone filled too? I told him not to touch my bone lol I was scared that would be too painful and i’d have black eyes for ages. do u have bruises under ur eyes? And did they pull out this long ass cotton string from ur nose the day after? Omg I nearly died lool xxxx
Hi cindy – yes, I had closed rhino yesterday. I had my bridge broken and narrowed, a small hump “chiseled” down and some minor tip work. I nearly died when I saw myself in the mirror! My eyes are a crimson / aubergine swollen mess! I was quite shocked at how awful I looked. I had the long ass string stuff (!!) removed this morning. I felt like my brain was coming out with it. Very uncomfortable, but it did feel better with it all out. My biggest problem right now is how bunged up and constantly leaking my nose is. I can hardly eat as I feel like I’m suffocating, it’s horrible. It’ll all be worth it though. How is your recovery going?
Hi Nikki, my names Rebecca, just had my first consultation with a patient coordinator and Iām arranging to see Dr Lancer for a consultation, was wondering if he showed you any before and after pictures of his work at your first consultation with him, all the best for your recovery
Hi Rebecca. I must admit, I didn’t ask him for any photos (I wish I had done), although I think I remember seeing a post on here from someone who said they did ask him and he didn’t have any. He may well have some though, so it’s still worth asking. Good luck. X
