What's the point in a PC?? Started by: Georgina

    As it says, what is the actual point in a PC? Don’t get me wrong mine was great to start with! Really helpful at consultations and fantastic at helping me find a way to get finance. But once my surgery date was booked ( in November to take place in March) and that all important deposit was taken, I never heard from her again!! I’m not really sure what I expected, maybe a text here and there to check I was happy with things in the build up. And perhaps a text the day before the op wishing me luck! Or even after to see how everything went! Maybe I was expecting to much??
    I just feel that the minute my money was taken and a date booked that it wasn’t necessary to maintain any kind of relationship with me. Has anybody else had this happened to them? Or have I just unfortunate?

    I bet if you emailed or left a message or something explaining how you felt, things would change very much in that respect! I know it takes courage to be able to point it out to someone like that, but you have paid a huge amount for their service, you deserve to be treated as such! They have a responsibility, and it says on the website that they are with you all the way through so point that out to her! I think its ridiculous that they think its ok to ignore you once they have the money. I have seen other girls complaining about it, and to be honest, mine hasn’t spoken to me much since I paid and I haven’t even had my surgery yet! But I asked her to call me by tomorrow and if she doesn’t I’m going to email her exactly how I feel.

    You weren’t expecting too much at all, and you have every right to feel that way! Don’t let them be paid for a service they aren’t even providing! If things don’t get better i would complain to head office, because other girls feel like this and maybe it would help to get the PCs to smarten up!

    That was a bit of a rant lol, but I feel the same as you! X

    Lol thanks Hun I am ringing the clinic tomorrow to change my nurses appointment and i will ask them if I can have head offices address to send a letter too. As you said if know one ever says anything then it will never change! One of the biggest reasons I went with Mya was cause they made me feel at ease and were very friendly and caring. Shame I’m not seeing any of that at the moment! Best of luck with you op, hopefully it’s not too far away? X

    Ooo 11 days!! I was so excited too and couldn’t wait, has no nerves at all! Even walking down to theatre I was smiling with excitement! Where are you having it done too? And who’s your surgeon? Xx

    Snap! He’s amazing!! Can’t believe how quick the whole process was! And all the staff are lovely at the hospital. There was a mess up with my admission time and they thought I was an overnight case, so they have me the option of staying for free!! Best of luck with it all, you ate certainty in the best hands!! X

    I ask myself the same thing every day since like you say that deposit was paid I called mine once after as my results are pretty bad and didn’t get the customer care or understanding that I was under the impression I paid for. Now I just go through the nurse had a check with my dr and he agreed that they need to be fixed at a later date as I have scoliosis of the spine the left of my chest protrudes out more then the right as he choose to place moderate profile left high profile right to try and balance me out but it hasn’t worked very well. He has agreed to fix it however he want to stay with different implant types i am not so happy with this idea and want to see a few more doctor to get more opinions, but that means I have to contact my pc which I really don’t want to do after my last experience. I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and call her telling her I want a few consultations with a few more surgeons hope that she is more helpful this time or I will be making a complaint.
    It’s bad that so many of us are let down by some aspects of the aftercare package that draws us to mya in the first place.
    I was left in tears the last time I spoke to the so called pc some of them do just see £ signs and treat it as a boob factory they wipe from there minds customer care and support which is a shame as there prob are a few that are good but are getting dragged down by the bad. X

    Yeah Christina I had Mr C. On tuesday just gone. He was lovely, not very talkative and very much too the point but I think I’d prefer him to be that way. X

    Oh Kim I’m sorry to hear that 🙁 seems a bit of a nightmare and when you need these people who have the answers, help and advice for you their not there. It does seem common that Mya have poor aftercare. X

    Ahh, thats a real shame. My PC has been fab. She said I could ring or txt any time I liked, and she has replied to every single request. I have had a good luck phone call today (op on Monday) and she said she will ring me again on Tuesday to check that I am feeling ok. I have really taken advantage of her, probably texting her on 15 different occasions. If you are not happy, why not ring head office and complain….after all you have paid for the whole package.

    You are so lucky @Sam Mine disappeared on holiday, didn’t tell me, so my texts and emails went unanswered. Phoned the clinic eventually and was told she was away. When she did come back, no response. Then I text her about something else and she got back to me but when i asked for the information to be emailed – nothing. Text her again three times, no reply. Phoned the clinic and she wasn’t in. Finally emailed and got a response. Emailed her back my new emergency contact details – no idea if she has got them but I am sure i will find out on the day. I hope none of my payment actually went to her, because she has done nothing really. Even when something is put in the diary for them to contact me about nurses appointments that couldn’t be booked when I asked them to – it was me who had to chase them up as their e-diary obviously doesn’t work. I’m not just contacting them about silly things but about emergency contact detail changes, no bloods taken, no responsible person for the day, potential change of date etc. I’ve given up expecting contact, or a phone call, or any well wishes and will most likely complain once this is all done and i have my boobs. Sorry for ranting but its been annoying me for a while ha ha 🙂 xxx

    I can’t believe some of the pc’s are that bad, mines ashley hunt from manchester and I cannot recommend her enough she’s been fantastic always replies to my panicked texts, I’m often texting her nonsense just to keep her updated and she asked the hospital to call her the minute I was recovered and more awake and called my phone to see how I was. If any of you ever go through the manchester clinic I would 100% recomend her, she’s more of a friend than a pc, so it seems!! Hope you get sorted kim. And I’d definitely give head office a ring because there’s so many girls, like ourselves, that would love their jobs helping people and not think solely about the money xx

    I’m sorry to hear that a lot of other girls have been having such a bad experience with pcs. I will be contacting head office next week and asking the clinic when I’m in on Tuesday about there complaints procedure. Im not usually one to complain about anything, but I have paid a lot of money for something that I was told included the whole package, and not received it. I’m only thankful that everything seems to healing well at the minute and I’ve not really needed to contact her. X

    I know what you all mean my pc was great I’d get a phone call every 3to4 weeks upto the op then I got a phone call the day before asking how I was and too say good luck. Then I heard from her three days after my op and haven’t heard from her since I used too get text from the clinic and emails but even they have stopped. Once they have had there money that’s it. Bit sad really.

    christina im with the manchester clinic ive got amy pullen suppose to be assistant manager and senior pc the best in there as soon as ive paid my deposit and booked my op date that was it ive really not heard from her ive tx and emailed days later i get a response, its taken her nearly a month to have my finance papers sent through for me to sign received them a week ago so had to rush getting them back and my ops on thursday xx

    @misfion yeah we do infact have the same useless women I am going to be putting in a complaint even after that breakdown one week in her being well won’t put the word here lets just say very uncaring and unprofessional not one but if contact to check if I’m ok like u I phone the clinic to be told she on Hoilday am afraid to say it has had a shared of your and my money xx

    I know tell me bout u would think after were payin all that money keepin them in a job they would be bendin over backwards to please, i could find any sports bras in sizes i was advised to get so i rang my pc and told her she wasnt even bothered so i asked to speak to a nurse for advice she said buy a macom bra for now that will do until swellin goes down and stitches checked she was far more helpful, i just hope everything goes well on thursday as heard alot of admission times habe been messed up im still waiting for mine!! Xx

    There really isn’t one hun..I went through pretty much the whole process alone (mine left & I wasn’t informed as to why my calls to her office or texts weren’t answered regarding Important questions) the receptionist Beth at the Cardiff clinic was a much bigger help but they still never contacted me I always had to ring them n ask for help many times but I got there in the end 🙂 if mr Traynor worked elsewhere I wouldn’t have gone with mya, although friends had such good service from the Cardiff & bristol clinic previously :/ xx
