Post op -am I normal? Started by: Lyndsay

    Hi ladies

    So I had my op two days ago on Tuesday and wondered if anyone could help me decide whether things are going normally.

    My right boob seems smaller than my left, and I’m having more pain in that side too. Sometimes a stinging pain (feels like strapping digging into me) and other times just a dull ache. It’s my dominant side so I’m not sure if that makes a difference? The other side, which seems bigger (although could just be that the strapping is different) isn’t hurting at all.

    Also, last night I woke up a few times with really twitchy arms…not good when you’re trying to stay still! I think this could be down to meds?

    Anyway, if anyone would mind talking me through their pain and if this sounds normal I’d appreciate it…

    Hey Lyndsay, it sounds nornal to me, one of mine has swollen up right into my collar bone and under my armpit and the other is completely normal. But its starting to go down now. I wouldnt worry, I think everyone just heals differently. My body keeps twitching at night too but I put that down to the painkillers xx

    Thanks Hun. It looks like the one on the right is on a different person with all the strapping, hope its just the way they have done them up rather than because that will be the final result….Thanks for your reply 🙂 x

    Hi, I had mine done on Monday evening and im the same. My right breast seems slightly smaller than my left. No pain in my left side, but a dull ache around my incision on the right side. They are settling more today so looking more the same size. But the pain difference is what ive noticed more. My left one is feeling brilliant even when the medication wears off. Sounds normal from what ive read on here from other girls, so I wouldn’t worry too much xx

    Thanks so much. Think the one that’s smaller is just healing more quickly, as that’s where the feeling is coming back too. Just hope this size difference isn’t forever! Hope your recovery continues to go well x
