    Ive read quite a few people have had oxygen to go to sleep, is this correct? I might be being thick but i thought you had a needle in your hand? Im confused 🙁

    The needle in your hand is the general anaesthetic and the oxygen is to help you breathe while you are under 🙂 x

    Hiya, I think that the needle thats put in your arm is the part that actually gives you the anaesthetic and puts you to sleep but they give you oxygen just as you are going under. That’s what I had anyway xx

    I had cannular in crease of elbow then anaesthetic was pushed through that. No oxygen mask for me to send me off but you do have oxygen throughout the op xx

    Ohhhhhh 🙁 I was hoping i didnt need a needle, so scared of them! Nevermind, should all b worth it!

    Im the biggest wimp when it comes to needles, im fine doing injections on other people but as soon as someone comes near me with one then the tears start and im a mess BUT anaesthetists are the best people for putting them in, you will be absolutely fine xx

    yeah u have it through a needle, then oxygen tube down ur throat to breathe, and then thats removed and a mask put over ur face before ur wake up so u wake up with that, i remember them explaining it all after i woke up

    you have a drip which has the anaesthetic and fluid in it which as soon as they attach will make you go under…the oxygen helps you breath during the time you are under. don’t worry – I hate needles too but I barely felt it xxx
