I wasn’t prepared for how knocked about I would feel after my op!
I don’t know if I’m feeling so rubbish because I’m laying in bed too much?
Is it best to get some fresh air and have a little walk or something?
Or is it normal to be bed bound! X x x

I’m doing a bit of both? The nurse said get up and move about every two hours and I’m an independent person and hate having my hubby do everything for me so I try at first but then the pain kicks in? He gave me a bed bath earlier bless him? x

See my pc kept saying to me ill need total bed rest! Lol but then I have heard other people have been told to be as active as pos.
I know what you mean though Rachel I feel bad asking for food / drinks so ill get up to do it myself and then even something like getting cereal is enough. The pain kicks in so I go back to bed to recover! My pain killers just make me sleep so much haha xxx

I’ve had an hour and half nap today and spent the rest just poodling around, playing with the kids sitting on the floor, cooked tea, well with a bit of help haha, mostly just cos my butt is sore so hoping moving around will help. Just listen to your body, there’s been a few points today when I know I’ve overdone it and had to sit down for a bit, but overall I think it’ll help keeping a bit active, less stiff as well. How’s your pain today? Xx

Had my op on Friday, really struggled that first day. I am still in quite a lot of pain to be honest. I’m not finding it easy but I just presumed i should be trying to do these things? Haha, I did have a local anaesthetic though so that’s probably why I feel better in myself? Ill probably take it a bit easier tomorrow, desperate to have a proper wash and wash my hair, it’s horrible..xx

Hey chick only just saw this post. Well I’ve kinda been doing a bit of both. Takes me a while come round in a morning when the pain has been bad but then once pain killers kick in, I’ll go sit down stairs or potter around the house and just get the blood flowing lol as ass goes numb in bed. Today I actually left the house and went to asda, feels weird to be out tho, and you feel on guard with the bumps in the road. The pain has been loads better today though (day 5) hopefully over the worst of it now aren’t we. My stitches have been itchy and must have scratched it a tiny bit in the night as had a little speck of dried blood on left pad. Been soo good and careful as well but never mind. Xxx

Yea they’re fine, took my morning pain killers so pain has eased now. Right still a little bit more swollen than left and a little more sore. Been putting bio oil on as worried about stretch marks as can see skin pulling. But if I get them, I get them – nothing I can do xxx

I got up morning after my op and tried to keep myself as active as possible. I bathed, wandered around the house, went for a gentle walk outside and tried not to stay sitting for more than 30mins at a time. I have had a strangely easy recovery, only took one painkiller post op, and I do put some of that down to making sure I left the house daily (for fresh air and sunlight ha ha) and kept myself moving. Swelling has been minimum. I’m not saying it was all fun, there were times when I was stiff and sore – especially first thing in the morning when my boobs felt about 10 stones, but I got up, got bathed, dressed, put my make up on and tried to do normal things – seeing friends, cooking (with help) making cuppas (with help) . I needed to feel normal. I just kept the movements and the walks gentle and stopped when my body told me to. I think my independence was because I knew I was on my own after the first 48 hours for a few days. But it was okay, managed to get a friend to wash my hair for me one week post op – eeeeeeww!!! ha ha. Hope your recovery goes well girls, much love xxxx

Yea @misfion I’ve managed to do most things like you. Something’s are heavy and that so had to ask my family. And wasn’t able to pull my own pants up at some points. My friend has washed my hair twice since op coz she knows how much I need clean hair so I haven’t suffered with that. That was my main worry. Pain has sort of gone now and it’s just stiff and hard. Xxx

Awww good to hear you’re doing well @Rachel and have clean hair 🙂 There are some things you think you would be able to do and then realise you can’t like pulling your pants up 🙂 I wore leggings and button up tops for a good long while as they were so easy to put on! Even though I felt good, sometimes i would forget and try and lift something but I was soon reminded I couldn’t do it ha ha 🙂 No harm done though, so happy xxx
