im a bit unsure as of what to expect on the day of my surgery which is the 23rd of july..i have an appointment with the nurse on thursday so i will be asking lots of questions then but it would be nice to hear from you guys that have experienced it already :)….

how long are you kept in after the op? and has anyone had overnight care as this is what im a bit worried about would rather come home and be comfy lol xx

I’ve stayed overnight I would recommend it if unsure the nurses really look after you & can’t do enough! I’ve been wanting for nothing at all I’d definately stay again xxx

Was also wondering about the medical with the nurse as mines tomorrow are there any needles involved for blood samples as I’m a bit scared if needles lool xxx

Hi Hun, the pre op did involve blood for me as I was 0.4 under the BMI so she needed to check there was no underlying issues. I also had Mrsa swabs (nose and groin)
I had my op at Preston and was a day case, I felt totally fine and pain free to come home, an hours trip in the car with my other half! I had my op at 9:30’and got in the car home at 3pm! X

Ohhh really Charlie :o! Thats a bit steep i assumed the care would be already included in the price whether it was day or night im guessing they tell u before u get booked into a late afternoon slot then as you would have to stay over night.

and thanks for the info Abigail really helpful as i hate not knowing what to expect 🙂 what else is included in the medical? xxx

hi love i had my op at preston was booked in for 8 it was all over and done with by 11 felt fine so glad i decieded to go home as i prefer to be in my own bed when not well the nurses were wonderfull x

No probs! If you haven’t discussed price make sure you ask for discount! It is £400 to stay but if your a day case you usually go down in the morning 🙂 I was first down at 9:30 after an 8am admission. The pre op you will have pictured taken, Mrsa swabs, blood pressure and you will go through all the medical info just to confirm everything you’ve already gone through! Infact everyone you meet will go through it lol! You will also make a post op appointment for 1 week after your op. x
