I’ve got one stitch left right at the end that doesn’t want to budge. It’s half poking out. Am I best to leave it or try pulling it out? xx

@Charlotte I had a couple stitch issues and have just had another stitch ‘spit’ this week at nearly 4 months post op but it was above the incision so not a drama.
My first one was at about 5/6 weeks and opened the incision a little. It wouldn’t budge so I cleaned it, trimmed it, then dressed it with an ordinary plaster. I phoned the mya nurse and she said thats what she would have done – the bit inside will continue to dissolve and the bit outside will break off…
It got a little red so I went to my own nurse for peace of mind and she said it wasn’t infected but put an iodine dressing on it and a waterproof dressing. By the time I saw the surgeon a week later it was all healed up and he was really happy with it xxx

Oh right, not to worry too much then. It’s not opened or anything it’s just poking out a bit on the outside. Ill try trimming it for now and hopefully it will eventually fall out. I’m 6 weeks next weekend so should be dissolved inside, am all healing nicely on the outside apart from this one stich ha. Thank you xx
