    Hi Ladies,
Im booked in for BA on the 24th and trying to get everything sorted. I was told to get post opp bra’s but these seem to only be for masectomy ops? Is a normal sports bra ok, if so i take it lifting them over your head is ok??
Also….what sizes do i get. Iv asked for a D cup but the surgeon said it may be bigger/smaller dependant on what he decides best on the day. Im normally a 36b.
Thanks for any advise in advance 🙂

U might find it quite hard to lift it over ur head for the first week or so after ur op… U can get zip up sports bras from marks an Spencer’s… I have a ‘MaCom’ post op bra… Cost about £40 inc. pp an their great.. They don’t interfere with the stitching and they are easy to decide what size u will need. The website is ‘www.macon-medical.com’ x

Thanks ill have a look. I did wonder how people were managing with normal sports bra’s. Do you have to wear them as soon as your home from hospital or wait until the strapping is off? x

You have to get a high impact sports bra … I got the marksys zip front n I cudnt fasten it .. I was 34 b n told to get 36 e as I was aimin to be dd …… Day 3 post op my boobs swelled right up and I was really bloated aswell ( this is normal ) n the 36 was killin me I had to send hubby out for new bra I’m currently in 38 f its a high impact sports bra from tesco its sooo comfy I love it .. It was 6 quid , for the sake of a few quid and your comfort I’d suggest you get a few dif sizes so ur prepared , u can always get refunds on what u don’t use x x

My nurse suggest 36 e …so I stocked up on them , different ones .. I got some lonsdale ones from sports direct 2 for 12 quid they were comfy but only medium impact , the marks n spencer was the 22 quid I think but like I say I cudnt zip it up and found it tight under my arms as I was really swollen on my right boob under my arm for a few days .. Babe the worst part for me was the bloating n the trapped wind my boobs felt great , I felt like I cudnt breath at one point , the bigger bra really helped , I’ve had it on 2 days now …feel like the bloatin n swellin is goin a little bit now …you’ll be absolutely fine ! I was dreading the recovery but I’ve been ok .. X x
