My nipples are numb is this normal?
I feel like my boobs and chest is swelling as the day goes on, my stitches wont burst open with the swelling and if i strain at up while moving will they ? I’ve had to loosen my Macon and I’m alternating with ice packs and hot lavender teddy.
Will this pain get any worse before it gets better?
Feel like crying and feel such a nuisance asking my hubby and daughter for everything, I hate relying on anyone. Xx

Lots of wuestions there Gail you are told to sleep upwards for 7-10 days as it reduces swelling! Trust me if ypu end up flat on ypur back you will struggle like hell to get back up again! Nipple numbness is very common and will return in time however isnt guareteed! All of ypur signs and symptoms are completely normal and you have nothing to worry about, keep n top of your painkillers, lots and sleep and fluids, rest up and you’ll be right as rain before you knpw ot hun! xxx

This is hurting like hell ,pain relief wore off so just took more and got more ice. I’m going to phone my nurse in the morning to see if there is stronger pain relief.

Emily I’ve just been reading up on heat and ice and would say steer clear of heat because it can increase bleeding so can increase the risk of hematoma . I’ve got one of those gel packs that you put in the freezer and omg it as really helped, I’ve even had it under the armpits because I think I’m swelling everywhere lol.. But I’ve got my heat in the small of my back. Pain relief as kicked in now too.
Have you managed to get up? My husband is having to pull me up lol xx

    Hi Gail,

I had breast surgery three years ago and remember them feeling very numb and itchy! This is copletely normal as it is ur skin stretching and ur nerves knitting back together!!! I got alot of sensation back in my breasts but not completely, there are areas around my breasts that are still numb but this is a consrquence of the procedure and is explained. It doesnt bother me what so ever! However i wasnt ever really in pain so check with u nurse on that and try not to worry because this will make u worse and feel more sensitive to the littlest of pains

    xx
