Anyone who has these in, please know that they have to be taken out before your operation because of the copper metal. Unfortunately for me, I showed the nurse at MYA my extensions weeks ago and she said they were fine. It was only when I started reading how you couldn’t even wear a hairband with metal in it that I thought that surely my extensions weren’t ok! I called Highgate Hospital and I was right, they have to come out. Which has been a blessing as my hair does need a rest – great to feel my scalp again! But MYA really should include this in their information sheet as extensions are so common these days. If I had been turned away on the day of my op I would have been devastated! Also, my operation is tomorrow and I still haven’t received an admission time from them. I’m just glad that the surgeon and staff at the hospital seem so professional as I still remain unconvinced about MYA.
