So basically I phoned my PC to ask about how I would be after the op.
My main concern is my surfer is on a sat. So that weekends I’m staying with my mom then I have 5 days before my partner breaks up from work for Xmas. But he’s only off for two weeks and it’s stressing me out. So basically I have 5 days alone with 2 children and then after the 2 weeks he gets off for Xmas I’m alone again. Now she advised me is be fine but I’m just so concerned if I lift my boy it will move the implants! I can get away with not lifting my eldest as he’s 3 now and quite independent. But my youngest is only 3 months now! He’ll be 6 months by dec and still hugely dependant.

    Advice?

Hi Scarlett I just wanted to bump this up. I am in the same boat. Op is nov 27th and I will have a 6 yr and 4 yr old, which are fine they Are independent but by nov my youngest will be and 1 and a bit. I will have help for the first seven days but after that I’ll be on my own to do school runs, naps etc i am panicking a bit about getting him in and out of car and cot? Anyone else experience this or have any advice?

What did your PC say? Or have you spoke to your surgeon already? My surgeon consult is not until oct 28th even though I already have surgery booked so I’m wondering if he can tell me. But in the booklet I left initial consultation with it says no heavy lifting and in brackets including children! Contradicting!

I have a 3 year old and my littlest was 15 months! It was so hard as I was told no lifting (including her) for 6 weeks! It took me 2 weeks to feel remotely normal. If you can cover the first 2 weeks you should be fine but please remember everyone is different some girls feel fine after a week I just felt crappy for 2 weeks x

My surgeon said no heavy lifting for 2 wks, but there’s no way my hubbie can take 2 weeks off! Will have 24/7 care for 7 days so I am hoping that wil help me for week two. Then I might set up a little bed on the floor for his afternoon nap and enlist the 6 yr old for some help with lifting if I need too. I am not telling anyone about my surgery so there’s no one else to ask for help! So basically I’ll be winging it!
