So it’s been 16 days since my op and I thought I’d let you know how I got on. I had a slight bump In nose from side profile that I wanted removing and we decided to not alter my tip at all but only bring it in slightly. I didn’t have a problem with my nose from front on, only the side. So the recovery wasn’t too bad – think the boobs were far worse to be honest! The first 4 days were uncomfortable as getting used to breathing through mouth was quite a challenge and you basically feel like you have the worst cold as you’re so bunged up and head and eyes and nose feels heavy. I wasn’t in pain just uncomfortable for first week. Second week was much better and could breathe again when cast came off on day 12 but it’s not totally clear as I’m still bunged up and sound like I have a cold as one nostril unlocks and then the other blocks again and so on and it’s been like that since Saturday. But at least I can smell a little and taste food again yay as I lost 8 pounds in 10 days. When cast come off I was a little shocked to say the least as my nose looked so narrow and skinny at top and I thought it looked weird. Then the next day wow it was double size and bridge looks so wide and swollen so basically cast withholds all the swelling until it comes off and your nose just doubles the size. This upset me greatly. I mean the bumps gone which is good and I like the side profile view but I’m hating the front on view right now as I liked my front on profile before so I’m getting sooooo paranoid thinking what if it stays like this forever? It looks very avatar like. And I’ve seen other peoples pictures and it does subside but I’m just freaking out thinking I’m stuck like this. My tip seems to be sticking upwards a little too but I’m hoping again this is swelling as I never asked for this. It’s very early days and I’m not liking the way I look right now because of the swelling ( it’s sooo puffy around bridge that it reassures me it is swelling and will go!!) but I am hoping every week will get better and trying to remain optimistic although I am finding it pretty hard right now. What doesn’t help either is my top lip is stil frozen and doesn’t move when I talk, can’t smile without looking plastic or false ( it looks so bizarre) and maybe once that subsides I will look more normal who knows! But I’m positive that Dr Gonschoir did a great job and can’t wait till I start looking more normal and seeing some sort of an improvement! Any questions feel free to ask 🙂
